RegularRegular style Handle is one of the more standard brush handles and for good reason. Thicker than a rat tail style but with similar long length for great control as a sash brush cutting in or painting trim and smaller areas.

Rat TailLong thin handles allow controlled, accurate detail painting for cutting in or painting trim and other small areas. Wood or synthetic style with rubber grip is available depending on painters preference.

Soft grip slim tailROLLINGDOG's Soft grip slim tail is like a combination of a beaver tail style and rat tail style in a synthetic handle with rubber grip.

Beaver tailThe Beaver tail style handles main purpose is to offer maximum comfort, fitting into the palm of the hand very well. It is usually a short to medium length handle for good control and long use with less fatigue.

Threaded detachable Thick medium length handle for a grip on wide ferrule, heavier than usual brushes. Threaded end allows for removal and replacement with threaded end extension poles great for staining decks or painting ceilings.

Long flat/dowel style The E500 series paint brushes come with different style handles for special purposes. The thin handles attached to bent ferrules are specially designed to paint radiators and other akward shaped surfaces. The long dowel style great control for detail painting.

Filaments

Synthetic filament vs naturalSynthetic refers to man made material while natural refers to the hair of animals. The majority of ROLLINGDOG's synthetic filament is composed of %70PET and %30 PBT, where as PET is a more stiff polymer, and PBT has more flex. All of ROLLINGDOG's natural bristles are made of premium China hog bristle, being white or black. Synthetic is referred to as filament, while Natural is referred to as bristles. Bristles swell and deteriorate in water based paints, filaments swell and deteriorate in oil based paints.

SRT synthetic SRT is an acronym for Solid Round Tapered, which is describing the end of synthetic filament that comes to a fine point. The purpose of this is to provide smoother application with less brush marks.

Machine roughed SRT synthetic

Just as the name indicates Machine roughed SRT is a Solid Round Tapered filament that has went through a special machining process to rough the filament, allowing it to hold and release paint more smoothly.

Flagged tip imitation natural

ROLLINGDOG™ has its own brand of imitation bristles named BristlexTM. This is a combination of flagged tip SRT (Flagging is a term that refers to splicing the end of filament into two pieces) with a conical shaped finer SRT, and a special wavy filament. The wavy design is added to increase the space between filament to better hold paints, and especially lower viscosity stains.

PET synthetic mix 70/30

Many of ROLLINGDOG brushes have a mixture of filaments and bristles. The idea of a combination is connected to a painters most commonly used type of paint. 70/30 is best for painters that usually will use water based paint, but may also use oil based paint.

Soft SRT synthetic white China 70/30 mix

The SRT in this brush is made up of %60 PBT, making it softer and more flexible that the 70/30 pet/pbt in most ROLLINGDOG brushes. This makes it a great choice for brushes used for staining furniture and cabinets.

SRT synthetic/Natural 70/30 mix

Many of ROLLINGDOG brushes have a mixture of filaments and bristles. SRT synthetic/Natural 50/50 mix

50/50 combination is one of the best choices for oil based paint users. The cost of bristles is much higher than filament, so the 50/50 mix works well to lower cost and while maintaing excellent performance with oil based coatings.

SRT synthetic/Double boiled natural 50/50 mix

Double boiling bristle will effectively add flexibility and softness to the bristle. An SRT mixture with double boiled bristle will make the brush have a bit of a softer feel with more flexibity than a 50/50 mixture with regular bristle.

SRT synthetic/White China 70/30 mix

White China bristles are finer than black China bristles and provide a finer finish. The 70/30 mix is slightly better for staining than the 70/30 black china bristle mix. Choice also depends on style and opinion of painters

Soft imitation wool

To imitate the soft application of wool ROLLINGDOG™ created Smooth-X imitation wool. This filament has a %50 PBT mix to make it softer and comes in a smaller diameter.This filament is great for application of stain, polyeurethane,shellac and varnish

Knit vs Woven fabric

Knit fabrics are less tightly bound together allowing the cover to hold more paint, but also release it faster than woven covers.Knit works best with eggshell, flat and satin finish paints and stains

The double looped woven fabric is lint free and releases paint slower while also providing a more spray like smooth application, due to the more tightly locked together material. This doesnt allow it to hold as much paint as it knit partner, but you may notice that application with a microfiber cover will seem to paint a larger space on one load. This is due to the paint being released slower producing lighter coats that will usually appear smoother as well. Best used with paints that will have a high sheen

EU or US style?

ROLLINGDOG™ offers rollers primarily in two different styles, one being US style fit for the United States and UK markets. US style attaches to cage style rollers, has 1.5" (38mm) core diameter and are made with maximum durability thermo bonding construction. EU style has various size core diameters, made with maximum durability thermo bonding construction, and attach to single rod rollers with diameter of 8 or 6mm.

Series Description

ALL-ROUNDER™ is a knitted acrylic fabric that gets its name from its well rounded performance with all paints and most surfaces, while also being an economical choice. It picks up a lot of paint and applies it well.

Microfiber has been taking the house painting world by storm due to its very effective tiny synthetic fiber construction. It leaves an almost spray like smooth finish, releasing paint more slowly than other covers. Instead of two you may want three coats with a microfiber roller, but the finish will have the highest sheen of rollers with the same length nap. Durable and works very well with both water based and oil based paints

MAXIMIZE-R™ is a premium woven polyamide fabric that is very durable and applies paint smoothly. For semi rough outdoor surfaces this is the best choice but also performs great indoors. Perfect for semi smooth to semi rough surfaces.

HI-SHEEN™ comes in a short nap and is best for painting smooth surfaces with glossy paint. Smaller Hi-Sheen rollers are a great choice for staining furniture and cabinets. Made with a synthetic velour woven fabric it is great with both water based and oil based products

GLOSS KING™ gets its name from being the ultimate choice for painting smooth surfaces leaving a very glossy finish. Made with high density foam it is a great choice similar to Hi-Sheen for high gloss paints applying to cabinets and furniture, and smooth walls.

PAINTER PLUS™ is made from a very durable woven nylon. It can be used for painting but performs best when applying epoxy to concrete floors

The Corner master is designed with a covered end, allowing it to effectively paint into corners covering every side of the corner surface evenly.Made with knitted acrylic fabric it picks up a lot of paint and with its 1/2" (12mm) nap works great for most interior surfaces ranging from semi smooth to semi rough.

SLEEK-MASTER™ is a premium mix of woven acrylic fibers that is lint free with smooth application. Sleek-Master is a durable cover and works great with both water based and oil based paints.

SMOOTH-PRO™ is made of knitted high quality blended fabric that has great paint pick up and is lint free. It works well with both water based and oil based paints and comes with an economical price tag, making it a great overal choice

The RUFF ROLLER™ is made of a knitted polyester/polyamide mix. Its durability and long nap make it a great choice for exterior rough surfaces.

The WOOLY-PRO™ is definitely the choice for any one who loves using oil based paints, but also performs well with water based. It is a natural sheepskin shearing which is very durable and lint free. It performs very well painting interior surfaces or outside masonry.

When staining deck you can run in to several problems when using rollers. There are gaps between boards, as well as crowning or cupping, which can make it difficult to fully cover surface with short naps and long roller covers. This is why for staining larger areas stain brushes are more popular

The Quickfire roller frame is a ROLLINGDOG original design that is meant to provide a better and easier painting experience.
