DESCRIPTION

The United States-Israel Binational Science Foundation (BSF) asked Ovaitt Health Media to completely rethink and redesign the presentation that they used to pitch potential new donors. Specifically, BSF asked Ovaitt Health Media to focus on the themes of scientific discovery and diplomacy while building the new presentation. Ovaitt Health Media created story and design concepts, designed all graphics and developed all slide templates for the presentation. To incorporate themes such as scientific discovery, Ovaitt Health Media utilized science metaphors to explain the role of BSF. A catalyst and chain reaction are used to illustrate the theme of scientific discovery. Ovaitt Health Media made the slide deck more appealing to target audiences by reducing text and increasing the use of visuals. For example, the original slide deck only provided a bulleted list of BSF’s grant evaluation criteria. Ovaitt Health Media converted this list into a diagram designed to vaguely resemble a benzene ring.

SIGNED 27 SEPT. 1972

TREATY

Lieutenant General Yitzhak Rabin

Ambassador of Israel

The Honorable Joseph J. Sisco

U.S. Secretary of State

Page 4: BSF Slide Presentation

Mr. Shimon PeresPresident of the State of Israel

From its inception, the promotion of scientific research has been one of Israel's major goals […]. The partnership struck between the scientific communities of the United States and Israel has served to boost a fertile cooperation between the best researchers in both our countries.

WHAT WE DO

Page 7: BSF Slide Presentation

COLLABORATE

Compound: Group of elements bonded together.

Role of BSF: Promotes science diplomacy & collaboration between U.S. & Israel by supporting collaborative research.

Page 8: BSF Slide Presentation

INCUBATE

Incubator: Provides necessary conditions for growth and development.

Role of BSF: Identifies and supports scientific excellence from its infancy.

Page 9: BSF Slide Presentation

CATALYZE

Catalyst: Lowers amount of energy needed for reaction to occur. Adding catalysts can cause chain reaction.

Role of BSF: Sets scientific discovery in motion and accelerates the path to discovery.
