Overview

Business Process Description Overview

Equipment Phase-Out process is applicable; when an equipment is being retired. Thisis done in two phases, i.e., Scrapped and Sold.

Process of deciding that a piece of equipment has reached the end of its useful andeconomic life and is subsequently phased out of use is Equipment Phase-Out process

Once, an equipment has been phased out of ser!ice it can be scrapped. This includesremo!ing it from the financial asset register, complying with regulations regarding the

en!ironment, sal!aging any re-usable parts, remo!ing from site.

Equipment Phase - Out

The Equipment Phase " Out process is a cross module process in which the Plant#aintenance module has a !ital role to play. $ll maintenance rele!ant data pertaining toequipment should be deleted % deacti!ated before Equipment is Phased-out.

Equipment Phase – Out ProcessEquipment Phase-Out and Scrapping

Equipment Phase-Out process in!ol!es, below steps&

• Equipment idle report in lieu of useful life e'piration, technology%product phase

out, un economical maintenance e'penditure is pro!ided by field unit%productionshop floor to the maintenance in-charge

• Equipment scrapping request is pro!ided by field unit%production shop floor to the

maintenance in-charge

• (ased on equipment scrapping request, scrapping%screening committee is

formed and on scrapping%screening committee appro!al, maintenance in-chargeshall delete % deacti!ate all maintenance ob)ects for that equipment and change

equipment status to *S+P " Scrapped• #aintenance in-charge shall update the equipment master data with the reason

for scrapping

• easons can be maintained in equipment master data

• #aintenance in-charge should de-acti!ate any maintenance plans, close any

open notifications, maintenance order, ser!ice entry sheet etc.

• Process of #aterial Scrapping through ## module should be followed as

applicable

• Once the scrapped equipment is sold-out, maintenance in-charge shall change

equipment status to *SO/ " Sold out and dismantle the same from respecti!e

functional location • 0hen a technical asset is scrapped%sold out, status report will be a!ailable for

asset write-off by concerned authority
