Purpose/Objective of Mission: (specify the type of work which has/had to be accomplished - not acceptable to write “see attached”): The workshop has the following objectives: (a) to socialize the recently-signed MoU between REDD+ National Management Agency and the Central Sulawesi Provincial Government; (b) to formulate the Institutional Arrangement needed for the implementation of REDD+ activities/programs in Central Sulawesi; and (c) to define applicable programs in five DA (demonstration activities) Districts. Brief Summary of Mission Findings: (not acceptable to write “see attached”) This Workshop was conducted as a two-day meeting, attended by more than 50 participants that make up the representatives of forestry stakeholders of Central Sulawesi. The first- day meeting was used to socialize the recently-signed MoU: its content, context and coverage, and its implication for the forestry management in the Province. The Government of Central Sulawesi Province –through collaboration with UN REDD- has produced STRADA, FPIC, NFI, and REL. The MoU implementation will be built further based on these documents. The second-day of the Workshop was dedicated to formulate: (1) the Institutional Arrangement needed REDD+ implementation in Central Sulawesi, and (2) the programs to be implemented by the 5 DA Districts. Three options for institutional construct were offered: (a) Provincial BADAN REDD+, via Perda (Provincial Regulation) offers more autonomy; (b) KOMDA REDD+, as an Ad Hoc unit set through Governor’s Decree; or (c) being a Unit Kerja within Provincial SKPD, set through Governor’s Decision Letter. Meanwhile, the 5 DA Districts has identified their priorities, and plan to implement the following programs: 1. District of Parigi Moutong: Forest Rehabilitation; Forest Patrols; Development of non- timber product from forest; Forest Community Enhancement; and Forest Borders and Zoning Improvement. 2. Donggala District: Deforestation; Reduction of Forest Degradation; Carbon Stock Enhancement; Support to Law Enforcement. 3. Sigi Districts: Initiation of Community Forest; Replantation of Protected Forest; Provision of Conservation Building; Zoning Improvement; Development of Silviculture; Training for Farmers in Conservation Activities; and Training for Students in Forest

The Workshop was concluded by having all five districts committed to prepare their planned-programs for implementation, and the Provincial Government to prepare the institutional arrangement needed for the implementation.

Recommendations/Actions from and to be Taken by whom:- Provincial Pokja is to prepare the institutional arrangement- District government will submit their proposals to the Pokja- BP REDD+ will need to clarify the funding process mechanism
