For further understanding of Electrical and Mechanical Systems, our subject instructor

Architect Jane Anne Carlos-Manuel once again let us work on an on-site activity like we did last

year. We are very fortunate to have an opportunity to make a site visit and observation in this

subject because it’s only in the actual that one will be able to learn fully on the what’s and

how’s of the building profession. It was our second time to work in a hands-on activity like this

and it helped us familiarize further the actual trends and regulations in an actual site. Located

at Golden Ville Subdivision, City of Malolos, Bulacan, our chosen project was a two-storey four-

bedroom residential house owned by Mr. Joseph Aparato Bognot.

One thing I significantly learned in this activity is that there are certain differences an

on-site routine will make with the recorded standards and recommendations from sources like

National Building Code and Philippine Electrical Code at times. Standard sizes, length

requirements, and types of materials are necessarily obeyed for one to design effectively and

efficiently, but it was the working experience in the field of the electrician or designer which

can alter it, greatly and commonly influenced by economic factors, construction issues, and on-

site contexts.

In an activity like this, a pleasing character is important for a smooth interaction

between the two parties. I overcome my shyness with strangers and developed politeness as

we want to be accommodated pleasantly too. We are very thankful for this experience as we

now know what circumstances we will handle in the distant future and we can now get ready

for it.
