A very ancient (12th century) temple in Hyderabad:

Swayambhu Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple

Swayambhu Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Kshetram located at Banjara Hills, Road #12, spread to the extent of 4.38 acres, is one of the most ancient Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Temples in Hyderabad.

Renovation & Development work of this temple along with Daily Worship, Festivals and many other activities were handed over to Hare Krishna Movement (an initiative of ISKCON Bangalore) recently.

This temple houses a Swayambhu (self manifested) Deity of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy along with His eternal consort Sri Lakshmi devi. The uniqueness of this temple is that the Lord and His consort are giving darshan in a self-manifest standing posture which is very rare.

What is Hare Krishna Movement?

Hare Krishna Movement is a nonsectarian religious organization spreading the Supreme Lord Sri Krishna’s timeless message of Srimad Bhagavad-Gita under the guidance of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, Founder-Acarya of world wide Hare Krishna Movement and a pure devotee of Lord Sri Krishna.

This movement is also meant to propagate Harinama Sankirtana that means congregational chanting of the holy names of the Supreme Lord, started by Sri Caitanya Maha Prabhu (Lord Krishna’s incarnation 500 years back) as the Yuga-Dharma (purifying activity of this age).

The Proposed renovation of the temple

Total Project Cost is Rs. 100 Cr. Construction work of the temple will go on Phase wise.

1st Phase: Renovation of existing Sri Swayambhu Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple by constructing grand temple. Estimated cost is Rs. 15 Cr.

Expected to be finished by the end of 2016.

2nd Phase:

o A grand temple of Sri Radha Krishna

o Nitya Annadana Hall

o Vaidika Samskara Hall

o Cultural & Educational Center etc. will be constructed.
