One of the key purposes of the project is for the new centre to be opento the community and not just for the Church to use. Therefore the drivingvision for the project is to see many community groups and agenciesusing the building on a daily basis along with the Church.
The people behind the project are a Christian based Charity called NewHorizon Church. The charity encompasses a Church and also a variety ofcommunity support programmes. Some of the programmes currentlyoffered by New Horizon Church include; volunteer training, familysupport, children’s clubs and events targeted at young people, parentand toddler groups, mentoring and pastoral care for vulnerable peopleand a community food bank.

project fundingAs you will be well aware, a project of this scale will cost a significant amount of moneyto complete, with New Horizon Church having the target of raising 1.5 million pounds. Thefinance strategy will be split over three different fundraising streams (please see informationbelow).
As this new centre will be focusing on creating positive change on the Nottinghamshire and Derbyshireborder we are inviting anyone who feels supportive toward the project to consider making a monetarydonation. This could be a personal donation or donations from local business, organisations andcommunity groups. If you would like more information on making a donation you can contact the projectfinance coordinator Chris Dilnot - Tel: 01773 763577, Mob: 07913 916864, Email: [email protected]
As this new centre will be used by New Horizon Church on a daily basis the congregation will be makingdonations towards the project. This will also include donating finance into the project which will begenerated from the sale of the Church’s existing building currently situated on Nottingham Road,Eastwood, Notts, NG16 3GR. (This is currently on the market for sale).
One of our strategies for raising finance will be to explore the potential of external funding. New HorizonChurch are working in partnership with Focus funding who are a national funding consultancy companywho specialise in generating funding for community projects. This includes: researching communityagencies who would like to be involved with the project, undertaking an extensive ‘Needs Analysis’ report, creating a project business plan and researching potential funding streams.
