COMMITTEE REPORTS Events Committee Chair is Kim Piazza Thank you to everyone who attended the SICBA Awards Banquet held at the Heritage Flight Museum on May 18th. Members were treated to a wonderful buffet catered by LaConner Seafood and Prime Rib House. We also enjoyed an amazing slide show and presentation from pilot Jim Bender. Recognition was given to many of our outstanding members at this event. Thank you all who voted for these awards and attended the event. I’m excited, and I want everyone else to be excited too, because it’s Home Tour time! This year our upcoming 11th Annual Home Tour will be held on, September 8th, 9th, and 10th. I want this one to be the best yet, so we need your homes, remodels, barns, commercial buildings, tree houses, and anything else you’ve got. We have lots of fun planned for this year’s home tour, including a VIP limo tour of the homes! Get your project(s) signed up right away, because the deadline of July 11th is coming up quick. Do you have good ideas that you want to us to know about? If you do, then come to our next Home Tour committee meeting on June 7th, at 3:00 PM, at the SICBA office, and tell us all about them. For this year’s Home Tour, let’s really showcase the best of what we can do.

Things are starting to heat up in the various different jurisdictions concerning permitting for both building and land use. If you are having any problems with permitting in either of these areas, take a minute and call Wayne at (360) 488-4078. There are things that have to be supported by documentation so please keep a record of your projects in chronological order so it can be addressed effectively. In the past, this record has been extremely helpful in getting permits issued and/or other issues resolved expeditiously so you can get on with your business. This is another member benefit so please use it!

Then tour the Park Ridge area and visit 5 residential homes that went Solar Sign Up at the following link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/6BBWL8Q Event Description Join us for our first Solar Run Tour of the year! Don’t know what a Solar Run is? Ever heard of “Poker Run”? Banner Power Solutions is introducing its family-friendly solar tour with some extra fun along the way. This course uses vehicles. No running required. Leave the Banner Power Solutions office with a course map and your first “Solar” playing card. Visit all five residential sites to view the solar systems installed and pick up a card at each site. At the last checkpoint, you can deposit your “Solar” hand, grab some BBQ snacks, and talk with the Banner Power Solutions team. There will be multiple prizes for the best hands. And if you make it to all sites, you will even get a wild card. You can take the tour at your leisure and deposit your hand at any time up until 2pm. SICBA’S Annual Home Tour & more is on for September!

In the next few weeks, we will be contacting all of our builders to participate in SICBA’s Annual Home Tour scheduled for September 8, 9 and 10. If you have a home you would like to showcase, let Lianna know right away and she will get the information to you as soon as it is available and up to date for this year. Our tour has been highly successful each year we have produced it and everyone who has participated has indicated they have gotten work from showcasing one of their projects on the tour. If you are a specialty contractor who has a great project to showcase, we ask that you contact your General Contractor/Builder and ask them to put that project on the tour.
