About UsBukal Life Care was first organized in 2009 inresponse to the devastation in Northern Luzon dueto Typhoon Pepeng, providing medical care,emergency response goods, and crisis counseling to primary, secondary, and tertiary victims. We wereregistered in 2010 (Sec. Reg. CN201029479). Wefocus on the psychological, emotional, and spiritualneeds of those in need in the Philippines. We are anecumenical Christian organization and believe thatthe faith of our clients is a potential resource inhealing.

Clinical Pastoral Education

We provide training for pastoral staff and chaplainsthrough our Clinical Pastoral Eduction program(CPE). We are certified as a training center for CPEby the College of Pastoral Supervision andPsychotherapy (CPSP, www.pastoralreport.com).Our training is interfaith and we have batches oftrainees going through the program most of the year,with our CPE- Intensive program occurring Marchto May. Our training and practical ministry is heldin partnering hospitals and jails in the Baguio-LaTrinidad region.

Disaster Response/Crisis Care

During times of disaster or community crisis, wesend in teams for stress defusing/debriefing. Ourteam members are trained in a number of differentforms of crisis care including: NOVA, CISD,Psychological First Aid, and Psychosocial

Processing. Additionally, we have members trained inplay therapy, art therapy, and story therapy forchildren.

We commonly work with other government and non-government organizations in these ventures, and havesent teams to Benguet, La Union, Pampanga, Cagayande Oro, Leyte, Cebu, Bohol, Aklan, and Iloilo, to helpcommunities heal from disasters (both natural andman-made). Training

In addition to our CPE program, we hold trainings in anumber of topics. Some of these are available to thepublic, while others are at the request of specificorganizations. Our public trainings are commonly heldat Philippine Baptist Theological Seminary (BaguioCity) approximately monthly. Recent topics haveincluded disaster response, intentional conversation,models of pastoral care, and mediation.

We have traning modules and a large number of topicsthat we hold upon request by groups. These are typically 2 hours to 1 day, although some like DisasterResponse Chaplaincy can be up to one week in length.

Life Care

The term, life care, covers a wide array of personalservices that are available when needed. Life Careincludes three major areas:

Pastoral Care: Classic interaction/intervention inproviding support in sustaining, healing, guiding, andreconciling. This may include one-on-one psychospiritualcare, pre-marital or marital counseling, and conflictresolution. This may also include group or individualdebriefing.

Crisis Care: Providing stress defusion or stressdebriefing after personal or small group trauma.

Member Care: This involves psychoemotional carecommonly within the context of professional missions orministry.
