Transcript
>To minimize mixing time on
location, the service company
normally prepares the dry
bulk cement mixture at it's bulk
cement plant.
The company engineer will have
inspected the bulk cement plant
well in advance of the job
to ensure that conditions are
sanitary and that accurate
methods are available to blend
the mixtures.
Since precision is crucial, when
weighing and mixing cement
and additives, it is
essential that equipment
be certified accurate.
Bulk Loading and Transport is a video only
IPIMS Subject.

A bulk cement facility that
uses state-of-the-art weighing
equipment is best.
The dry ingredients are placed
in a batch blender and mixed
pneumatically.
The company engineer routinely
requests a copy of the bulk
plant load sheet to confirm
what dry additives were used.
The load sheet is retained
in the permanent well file.
The dry ingredients are
then loaded into bulk cement
transports.
These trucks will carry the
bulk cement to the location.
A compressor on the transport
pressurizes the cement storage
bins, enabling them to be placed
in any position without the need
to depend on gravity feed.
Most cement transports have
storage bins that are vertical
cylinders with domed
heads and conical bottoms.
When the job begins, the
pressure in the bins will force
the dry ingredients into
discharge pipes that lead
to the mixer.
