TRANSCRIPT
Dear God, In this month of Remembrance,
the example of Holy Saints, and courageous men and women
from the past, inspire me to make choices which are
life-giving & good. Teach me to see in every circumstance,
an opportunity to give my best, and guide me to fulfill my promises and commitments through service to my family, school, and parish.
When I fail to live up to my responsibilities,
help me learn from my mistakes and correct the wrongs that I have done.
Teach me to live in the Spirit of Jesus whose responsibility for us
gave rise to our freedom from sin and the promise of eternal life.
AMEN

BRUCE GREY CATHOLIC DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD – VISION STATEMENT
Committed to a vibrant Catholic education, we ensure quality learning experiences through community partnerships that nurture each student in mind, body and spirit and embrace the
teachings of Christ, giving witness to Gospel values.
FREEDOM’S COST
What is the cost,
For all of our rights?
Schooling, working,
Calm and peaceful nights.
We need to remember
Those who died.
Who gave us freedom,
In exchange for their lives.
Not only these people,
But those who are fighting still.
Who all pray to come home
If it be God’s will.
Fighting for our country
In what can only be hell,
No matter what the outcome is,
Never again will they be well.
Minds and bodies battered,
For they are shown no mercy,
Nothing must sway them,
For their mission is victory.
So it is today that we thank them,
For sacrificing their lives,
And giving us freedom,
For us to survive.

The Canadian Down Syndrome Society (CDSS) is proud to announce National Down Syndrome Awareness Week (NDSAW), No-
vember 1-7, 2014. NDSAW celebrates Canadians with Down syndrome and encourages Canadians to “See the Ability” in all peo-
ple. Representing the campaign this year are the Anderson siblings, Maxwell and Libby, who are both three years old, from Fall
River, Nova Scotia. Maxwell has Down syndrome and Libby is proud to tell people that he is her best friend. This year’s campaign
features a call to action, inspired by their relationship. It reads: “Get to know people with disabilities. You may gain a new friend and
a new perspective.”During the National Down Syndrome Awareness Week, the NDSAW website (www.cdss.ca/ndsaw) will feature
a new story each day featuring Canadians who truly “See the Ability”. Self-advocates (adults with Down syndrome), along with their
friends and families, will share their own experiences of being part of the Down syndrome community and how it has changed their
lives for the better. National Down Syndrome Awareness Week is an annual campaign that gives Canadians the opportunity to rec-
ognize and celebrate the contributions made by people with Down syndrome every day in our schools, communities, workplaces
and families. NDSAW is a great time for people to learn more about Down syndrome and help us advocate for equitable opportuni-
ties for people with Down syndrome. For more information about National Down Syndrome Awareness Week please visit
www.cdss.ca/ndsaw or www.facebook.com/cdndownsyndrome.

Old Man Winter & Bus Cancellations
The season is upon us...a reminder to listen to the radio on mornings that you suspect there may be school closures due to inclement weather. Bus operators work in consultation with school boards officials (primary secondary principals) to make the calls as to whether or not schools will be closed. Once the decision has been made a phone call tree is activated and ele-mentary principals of schools in our area are informed of the decision to close. If there is an extra curricular event that your child is being bussed to on a day that the school is closed due to inclement weather, please make the assumption that the event has been cancelled. Please do not hesitate to contact the school with any questions or concerns regarding inclement weather. Go to www.bgcdsb.org, click on transportation icon to sign up for twitter and email notifications.

Character Education
Is a way of life and being
The scripture passages that guides us this month are, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.' The second is this, 'You shall love your neighbour as yourself.' There is no other commandment greater than these.”
Mark 12:30-31.
November VIRTUE : Responsibility
Amen.
