Four days workshop on innovative and critical thinking is organised for all students of B.Com and BBM in four groups from 3 - 6, Jan. 2018 at Vishwesharaya Bhavan, Kalaburagi. Mr. Noor Farista, an industrial trainer from Hydrabad has been invited as resource person for the program. All 400 students have actively participated and enriched with techniques and skills for competency and confidence building. It has made a positive impact on the attitude of students and enhanced their potentiality for accepting the challenges of changing business world and prepare for the competitive world. Changing the attitude and driving the youths to the right direction is the need of the hour in contribution to the nation building activities.

L e g a l A w a r e n e s s a n d W o m e n Entrepreneurship Development Program was organized under the auspicous of Women Empowerment Cell on Saturday 23rd. Dec.2017. Chief Guest, Mr. C.V. Raman CDPO, Kalaburagi gave tips on taking balanced diet for good health and to keep away from deseases. Mrs. Anita D. Kulkarni, explained Women Protection Act, Domestic Voilence Act, referring the provisions beneficial to women and appealed to be prepared women in need of help. Mrs. Bhagylaxmi M.M, Guest of honour appealed girls to take best use of the Govt. Schemes beneficial to women. Mrs.Veena Mukund, Director of Gurukul Group of Institutions presented a presidential remarks appreciating the event and appealing the girls to take the message of women empowerment to the community. Principal, Shri. Sanjeev Patil appreciated the role of women in the society assured to provide wide opportunities for women empowerment.

Self defence skills for girls Skilling Indian Youths is the need of the hour. Self-Defence skill for girls was organized as part of women empowerment programme on Saturday 16th Dec 2017 Ms.Jyothi VH and Ms.Manjula Vidyasagar were resource persons on the accassion. As many as 150 girl students have participated and enhanced their confidence level.

As a mark of CSR the management is kind enough to extend a helping hand to the disadvantaged section of the society. World Disable Day was celeberated on 3rd. December 2017 at Blind Children School Kalaburagi. Play materials, sweets and fruits were distributed to blind school children.

As a measure of promoting environmental conciousness among students and public it is decided to practice last saturday of every month as veh ic le f ree day. Accordingly all students were appealed to come to college by using either bicycle, auto or pubic transport facilities. th thOn 26 January 2018, 69 Republic day was celebrated a s a m a r k o f d e d i c a t i n g o u r s e l v e s for successful development of democracy which is one of the largest democratic countries in the world. Mr. Mukund M.S, Director of Gurukul Group of Institutions graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Shri. Rohidas Jadhav the Rtd. Army Officer were honoured with the guest of honour in recognization of his dedicated service to the nation. Shri. Rohidas Jadhav, sharing his experience with participants, appealed students to be detrimental and dedicated towards the service of parents, teachers and the mother land, India. GDC’s first monthly bulletin was also released by the Chief Guest Shri, Mukund M.S, and the guest of h o n o u r S h r i , R o h i d a s J a d h a v . The Principal, as the president of the function, addressed the students with motivational words promoting national integrity and patriotism, giving examples of national heroes l ike Subhash Chandra Bose, Bhagat Singh, Lokamannya Gangadhar Tilak and others. Appreciating the release of GDC’s monthly bulletin, which is aiming to promote

chairperson of the first technical session on “The Role of thHigher Education in Economic Development” on 9 . IQAC

National Conference organised by Kristu Jayati College th Bengaluru on 18 of Jan, 2018. The Principal also presented a

research paper entitled“HIGHER EDUCATION AND th HUMAN HAPPINESS INDEX” on 19 of Jan, 2018 jointly

prepared with Dr. S. B. Hagaragi. The paper received a

v e r y h i g h a p p r e c i a t i o n f r o m t h e e x p e r t s a n d

participants in the technical session. The study

revealed that, mere growth in GDP, NNP and PCI is

not enough but real growth implies how best the

g rowth i s gove rned and sha red among a l l t he

s t a k e h o l d e r s . T h e r e s e a r c h p a p e r p r e s e n t e d ,

highlighted that a small country Norway is the most

happiest country in the world and people in the central african

republic are the most saddest countries in the world according nd to UNSDG- 4 report 2017. India stands at 122 place out of 155

lagging behind from China and Pakistan. The paper

suggests to improve national policies governing even

NSS Camp at Dattamandir Jewaragi Colony,Kalaburagi. Swachha Bharath Abhiyan andLand scaping programme was organized by NSSVolunteers at Datta Mandir, Dattatraya Colonyon Sunday 11th March, 2018. As many as 70volunteers had actively participated in theprogramme and exhibited their strength andspirit of transforming India into strong India,Smart India and Healthy India. It is proposed toadopt the campus and make it a healthy and holyplace for better use of the community towardsenvironment protection and pollution free zone.

Mr.Amit Uppin, presented the careeropportunities available and the techniques tobe used in making best selection of careeroptions and the institutions in considerationwith factors influencing the decisions. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar born on 14th. April1891 - died on 6th. December 1956). He is popu-larly also known as Babasaheb, was Indian ju-rist, political leader, philospher, anthropologist,historian, orator, economist, teacher and editor.He was also the Chairman of the Drafting Com-mittee of Indian Constitution. He was a great sonof India and a social reformer who inspired DalitBuddhis Movement and compaigned agaist so-cial discrimination against Untouchables. He wasalso supporter of rights of women and labour.He was the first law minister of Indepdent Indiaand founding father of Republic of India.Ambedkar was a prolific student, earning doc-torates in economics from both Colombia Uni-versity and London School of Economics. Hestarted his career as economist, professor and law-yer. But, later part of his life was dedicated forindependence movement of India, fighting for so-cial justice of Dalits, women and labours. Hecontributed for establishment of states of India.He accepted Buddhism and promoted massconversioin of Dalits into Buddhism. He wasawarded the Bharat Ratna, Indias highest civil-ian award in 1990 posthumously.
