    WELCOME TO GRACE COVENANT!

Thank you for joining us today! We are an historic Presbyteriancongregation offering traditional worship and multiple ministries

for persons of all ages. Please join us following worship for fellowshipin the Social Room. Thank you for turning off your cell phones, pagers, cameras, and other electronic devices for the duration

    of morning worship.

Our life-long nostalgia, our longing to be reunited withsomething in the universe from which we feel cut off, to be on theinside of some door which we have always seen from the outside,is no mere neurotic fancy, but the truest index of our realsituation.

    ~C. S. Lewis

So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view.

Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old hasgone, the new has come! All this is from God, who reconciled usto himself through Christ and gave us the ministry ofreconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself inChrist, not counting mens sins against them. And he hascommitted to us the message of reconciliation. We are thereforeChrists ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal

through us. We implore you on Christs behalf: Be reconciled toGod. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that inhim we might become the righteousness of God.

    ~2 Corinthians 5:16-21 NIV

younger, we also have a crib nurserytoddler room, and preschool care.

MUSIC NOTES: Johann Krebs was anoutstanding pupil of J. S. Bach, and Krebsorgan works owe much to his famousteacher. Krebs Toccata in E is believed tobe inspired by a familiar toccata by Bach. Itbegins with a demanding pedal solo andimmediately launches into a joyful toccataIn 1989 American choral composer JaneMarshall wrote the anthem I Will Extol Thee. This energetic work was commissioned bythe Chancel Choirs of PeachtreePresbyterian Church in Atlanta. The choirsings rhythmic and syncopated passageswhile being accompanied by a constantoccata in the organ. A choral a capellainterlude interrupts the dramatic energybefore concluding with joyful alleluias andamens. Todays Handbell voluntary is aclever arrangement of two familiar hymns(For the Beauty of the Earth and This Is MyFathers World). The postlude is from acollection entitled Byzantine Sketches. Thiscollection of programmatic sketchesdescribes different parts of the Sacr-CoeuCathedral in Paris. Tu es Petra is based onthe church being built on Peter, the rockThe toccata depicts the battle between good(God) and evil, and of course, God isalways victorious over evil. It is a typicaFrench toccata with rapid chordal passagesin the hands accompaniment by a dominantpedal line. The two come together at theglorious conclusion on full organ.
