Food Bank Next Sunday is the third of the month, usual time for donations to the food bank. Your generosity is always appreciated.

Sacraments

The Sacrament of the Sick – ideally celebrated in community, will be Thursday, Oct 15, 2:30 pm. Those who are seriously ill, those of advanced age, those undergoing serious surgery or treatment and those in danger of death are invited. All who are baptized Catholics are candidates for the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick. Let us joyfully celebrate the healing of the Lord through His Church.

The Joy of the Gospel Wednesday, October 21 & 28, November 4 & 11, Friar Edward DeBono, O.F.M. Conv., will present four themes of the Apostolic Exhortation of Pope Francis. ‘The Joy of the Gospel’ (Evangelii Gaudium). These Wednesday evenings in our hall, 7-8 pm, are a blessed opportunity for us and for all to have a bit of time for spiritual nourishment and renewal. Our generous Knights of Columbus have copies of the Joy of the Gospel for you. It is necessary to read the letter before the presentation so that we may receive full benefit from these four evenings.

October RosaryThe Knights of Columbus will sponsor praying the Rosary every Wednesday evening at 6:45 pm outside at the statues of the Blessed Mother and St. Bernadette. October 14, 21 and 28. In case of inclement weather, we will move inside Our Lady of Lourdes Parish to the main foyer of the church, in front of the statue of the Blessed Mother. All are welcome to participate. God bless our parish family.

Bingo Fun Night!The Knights of Columbus invite you to an exciting evening of Bingo to be held on Wednesday, October 14th. Treasure Chest Bingo on Bath Road and EVERY CENT from ticket sales will be donated back to our parish. The $10 ticket buys your entry into the event as well as a package of tickets worth $21 (provided upon arrival and one package per person). There are also many special door prizes. Please see one of our Knights of Columbus in the church vestibule after Mass or contact Wayne Wilfang, at 540-0744, for more information. Please join us for our Bingo Fun Night!

Parish Meeting on Refugees will be held in our Parish Hall on Thursday, October 15 at 7 - 8 pm. Guest presenters will be the Diocesan Contacts for Refugee Sponsorship. The purpose of this gathering is to provide interested parishioners with information about refugee sponsorship so that, as a parish, we can make an informed decision about possible parish sponsorship of a refugee family. Annual Liturgical ConferenceThe Jubilee of Mercy: “Merciful like the Father”The Holy Father has announced an Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy that will be celebrated from the feast of The Immaculate Conception, 8 December 2015, to the Christ the King, 20 November 2016.
