You’re invited to Trunk or Treat! TODAY, from 4-6pm in the lower parking lot at AUMC. We're in need of folks to decorate their vehicle trunks and pass out candy. This year there will be a prize for the best decorated vehicle! Grab some friends and join us for an evening of community fun!

“Sharing the Journey in Caregiving”

Workshop — On Saturday, Nov. 7, Stephen Ministry congregations in Charlottesville and Hospice of the Piedmont will offer a workshop here at Aldersgate from 9:30 a.m.–12:00 noon. Dr. James Avery, CEO of Hospice of the Piedmont, and Donna Authers, author of A Sacred Walk: Dispelling the Fear of Death and Caring for the Dying, will present information to prepare people to effectively care for, support, and simply relate to a person diagnosed with a life-threatening illness. The event is free and open to the public. As you prepare to celebrate Thanksgiving this year with family and friends, please remember those less fortunate than we are and contribute food items to the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank. Food that is needed includes: Breakfast Cereal: 16 - 18 oz. size; Peanut Butter: 18 oz. MOST NEEDED; Canned Vegetables: 14 - 16 oz. size; Beef Stew, Ravioli, Spaghetti: 20 - 24 oz.; Canned chicken or tuna: 13 oz. MOST NEEDED; Canned Fruit: 16 oz; Canned Soups; Rice: 1 lb. bag or box Macaroni and Cheese boxed; Cans of 100% Juice; Pasta & Pasta Sauce (NO glass jars); Coffee/Tea/Jam/Jelly (NO glass jars); NOTE: Please check expiration dates and NO jumbo size containers please. Food Collection Bins will be placed in the Welcome Center and outside the Reed Room. Food will be collected through November 30th.
