50 minutes Introduction of Lesson:
y Watch Degrassi: Time Stands Still
25 minutes Lesson Instruction:y Students will read an ar ticle on the Columbine shooting and write a
ref lection connecting the video to the real event. They will discuss what
steps could have been taken to have prevented these event and what attitudes cause this type of intolerance.
Assessments/Checks for Understanding:
y The teacher will check for under standing the next day because of timeconstraints.
Closure/Wrap-Up/Review:
y Students will ref lect on the ar ticle and connect our discussions on bullying to other issues of intolerance.
