Introduction

• Bumrungrad Hospital is an internationally accredited, multi-specialty hospital located in the heart of Bangkok, Thailand.

• Bumrungrad Hospital is pronounced (bahm-roong-RAHT),which means "care for the people".

• It was Founded in 1980, today it is the largest private hospital in Southeast Asia, with 554 beds and over 30 specialty centres.

• Bumrungrad offers state-or-the-art diagnostic, therapeutic and intensive care facilities in a one-stop medical centre.

RECENT DEVELOPMENTS• Bumrungrad Hospital employs the latest information

and medical technologies. • In 2004,the hospital expanded its Heart Center and

Digestive Disease Center, and upgraded its diagnostics and therapeutics capabilities to include a new cardiac catherization lab, 16-slice CT Scanner, digital mammography and VISX Star S4 Lasik equipment.

• In 2003, Bumrungrad successfully performed Thailand’s first liver transplantation, one of the most complex medical operations. It is the first private hospital in Thailand approved for live transplantation by the Organ Donation Center of the Thai Red Cross.
