Summer & Turtle Season Summer is a peak season for High Value Travelers on the Southern Great Barrier Reef.

The Summer campaign focuses on two of the Bundaberg region's hero experiences - the Southern Great Barrier Reef and the Turtles.

The Bundaberg region is the gateway to the Southern Great Barrier Reef. From the coral cays of Lady Elliot and Lady Musgrave Islands to the fringing reefs off the beaches, the region is seeing record visitation numbers as the world discovers this pristine and highly accessible wonderland.

The Bundaberg Turtle Season is a signature natural encounter experience for Queensland and a wonderful 'hook' for industry to leverage. The ranger-led encounter sees 30,000 visitors travel into region each summer to witness the miracle of life that is the Mon Repos Turtle Encounter.

The campaign will run from September through to March with activity placed around nesting and hatching phases of the turtle season.

Events Campaign Major events contribute to the Bundaberg regional economy; attract visitors; enhance the profile of the region; and foster community pride.

Many of these regional events take place in the cooler months of autumn, winter and spring, and to build out of region awareness of these, Bundaberg Tourism is introducing an annual Events Campaign.

The campaign will be conducted in partnership with the local tourism industry and community and will target High Value Travelers within the 400km drive radius of the Bundaberg region.

CulinaryWith locally grown, made and produced food and drink across the Bundaberg region in abundance we are well-placed as a destination to highlight our culinary attributes.

Tourism and Events Queensland research highlights food and drink as a key factor in holiday decision making for High Value Travelers, while Tourism Australia recognises it as the most emotive trigger after world-class beauty.

To support the Southern Great Barrier Reef Destination Guide, Bundaberg Tourism will release the Bundaberg Region Official Visitors Guide in early 2020. The Guide is aimed at visitor dispersal throughout the region on arrival and will include destination information and operator advertising.

To fit with the styling of the new guide, the majority of advertisements will now be set out in a formatted ad style (See example) to give a clean, inviting feel. All you need to do is provide the written copy and images and a proof will be sent to you for approval of the formatted advert.

We will only be accepting display ads for full page advertisements (finalised artwork to be provided – ad creation is available at an additional cost. Display content is subject to final approval by the publisher.)

The ATDW system is a central storage and distribution facility for tourism industry product and destination information from all Australian States and Territories. This content is compiled in a nationally agreed format and electronically accessible by tourism business owners (operators), wholesalers, retailers and distributors for use in their websites and booking systems.

Sponsored Campaigns are scheduled as part of the Turtle, VFR and Culinary marketing activities, but may be requested outside of scheduled time.

Leverage our engaged audiences by sponsoring a blog. Blog sponsorship includes a purpose-written narrative of 300-500 words, uploading of a maximum of four (4) of your own images, and a sponsored social media post targeting agreed audiences.

BLOGS >> CONDITIONS§ Blog sponsors must provide suitable material about their product to

allow the Bundaberg Tourism Marketing Team to write content§ High resolution images must be provided (minimum 1000px wide,

300dpi).§ All sponsored blogs and associated social media campaigns

will include a disclosure of Bundaberg Tourism’s promotional arrangement with the blog sponsor.

§ The Bundaberg Tourism Marketing Team will work with the blog sponsor to determine the target markets and duration of the social media post to a maximum value of $50.

DIGITAL ADVERTISING >> AD SPECS§ MREC - 300w x 250h pixels - 40kb max.§ Half Page - 300w x 600h pixels - 100kb max.§ Ad format: JPG, GIF or PNG. Working files must be supplied.§ Ad content: Ad should include an attention grabbing offer, a quality

image and a strong call-to-action.§ Terms and Conditions: if terms and conditions apply to the offer

and an asterix is to be included on the ad, the asterix should match with wording i.e. ‘T&Cs apply’ or similar. Alternatively, the Terms and Conditions should be obvious and easy to find via the landing page URL provided.

§ URL: a URL must be provided that matches the deal so if a consumer clicks on the ad, they are directed to more detail about the offer, and how to book/claim the offer.

MREC >> SUGGESTIONS1. Offer Create an attention grabbing offer (ideally with an enticing price

point). Choose a single selling point that makes your deal different, better,

or special. E.g. value, convenience or location. Try to include a sense of urgency - ‘limited time only’ or ‘exclusive’. Keep the offer as simple as possible – the less words the better.2. Image Hero image that shows the business or product. Lighter, brighter images seem to perform better. Include logo.3. Call to Action Include a call to action e.g. ‘Book Now’.4. Website Link Include the offer on your website that details what the offer is and

how to book this deal. Include any terms & conditions that apply to the deal e.g. expiry

dates or block out dates. Also it is recommended but not crucial, to have an online booking

option as this is an easy way for consumers to book your deal.

FEATURED DEALS >> CONDITIONS§ Featured deals will be arranged in alphabetical order.§ Featured deals will only be offered if more than three standard

deals are also offered during the campaign period. If less than three standard deals are available, standard deals will be substituted.

FRONT PAGE WEBTILE§ Available for six weeks, will appear in second row of webtiles. § A high resolution image (300dpi, minimum width 1000px) must be

supplied. § The webtile must link to a page on the BundabergRegion.org

website.§ Front Page Webtiles are subject to approval based on availability

and campaign suitability.

§ Is the deal headline compelling to encourage click through? - % off (aim for 10% or more, the higher the better) - Buy One, Get One Free - Bonus Nights (e.g. Stay 5, Pay 3) - Package Deals (e.g. Accommodation & Tour Package from $XXXpp)§ Ensure BookEasy listings are up to date and includes great imagery.§ Track your campaign success by: - Communicating with your staff the importance of determining the source of an enquiry. - Creating a new or different package in market so you can evaluate your advertising’s effectiveness - Ensuring your deal/s can be easily found on your website - this may include highlighting your deal on your homepage and also on your deals/ packages page.

MAP & DESTINATION GUIDE § Images

Formatted advertisements will include one (1) photo (logos not accepted). Images must be supplied as high resolution JPG or TIFF (300dpi) at a minimum size of 1MB. JPG files must not be compressed to low quality images, only high quality files will be accepted. Logos/images supplied in Microsoft Word will not be accepted.

§ Supplied Press-Ready ArtworkAll artwork must be PC compatible and is to be supplied by email to [email protected]. All supplied artwork is subject to approval by Bundaberg Tourism. Preferred file format for any supplied artwork is a press optimized PDF file, created using Adobe Acrobat Distiller, at exact dimensions in mm. All images in PDF should be a minimum resolution of 300dpi. Convert all fonts to outlines or embed in PDF. Artwork created in Microsoft Word or Publisher will not be accepted.

§ InDesignCMYK with all files checked for separation, unused colours deleted, all colours named with their process elements (e.g. “100M/100Y”), fonts converted to outlines, all imaged embedded, files saved as press optimized PDF.

§ IllustratorCMYK with all files checked for separation, unused colours deleted, all colours named with their process elements (e.g. “100M/100Y”), fonts converted to outlines, all images embedded, files saved as EPS.

§ PhotoshopResolution 300dpi, CMYK colour mode, files to be saved as high resolution TIFF or EPS. JPEG files should have compression set no lower than 10 to ensure the file maintains good quality.
