Bunna Lawrie & Coloured Stone Coloured Stone, Australia's premier Aboriginal band, originally came from Koonibba, South Australia on the Nullarbor Plains and are now recognised world wide. 2015 will mark 38 years of constant touring by Bunna Lawrie and Coloured Stone Coloured Stone was formed in 1977 by Bunna Lawrie, lead singer and songwriter, combining rock, ska, reggae with a unique Aboriginal sound incorporating traditional instruments such as clap sticks, didgeridoo, bundawuthada (gong stone) and traditional language. Every performance from Bunna and Coloured Stone is a memorable musical experience, full of Aboriginal culture and meaning. Coloured Stone is Bunna Lawrie lead vocal, rhythm guitar, didgeridoo, clap sticks & gong stone (bundawuthada) with a 4 to 7 piece backing band including; lead guitar, didgeridoo, bass guitar, backing vocals, dancers & drums. Bunna Coloured Stone have appeared in almost every remote Aboriginal community in Australia, punctuated by performances at the Edinburgh Festival, 1998 Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur, the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, Womadelaide (several times), the 40 th anniversary of the Tent Embassy in Canberra, the St Kilda Festival in Melbourne, the Big Day Out Queensland, Garma Festival , Woodford Festival, Stomping Ground Broome, Moomba Festival, the Laura Festival, the Spirit Festival, the Dreamtime, the Long Walk, the Dreaming, the Island Vibe Festival, Barunga, Rainbow Serpent Festival Victoria and many, many more. Most, more than once. In Australia there are few roads that Bunna has not traveled. Overseas Coloured Stone have been an enormous hit. Coloured Stone pushed Michael Jackson out of the #1 spot in the New Caledonia South Pacific Top Ten, performed in Malaysia and in England appearing at the Edinburgh Music Festival to great acclaim. Coloured Stone toured New Zealand, the South Pacific region and in Indonesia 1994 performed two concerts to over 90,000 people each night at the Jakarta Exhibition. Coloured Stone, Australia's premier Aboriginal band,originally came from Koonibba,

Coloured Stone was formed in 1977by Bunna Lawrie, lead singer and songwriter,

Bunna Lawrie is a proud Mirning elder from his homelands on Ngargangurie (the Nullarbor Plains), on the southern coast of South Australia.As a traditional song man, dancer and medicine man, Bunnais passionate about his indigenous heritage and the preservation of traditional land and culture.

It was Bunna's drive, for the protection of the environment and his sacred totem the Southern Right Whale, that became the subject of the inspiring film 'The Whaledreamers', winner of 8 documentary awards, directed by Julian Lennon and produced by Kim Kindersley. Bunna was invited by Julian Lennon to sing on hisrecent album and remains in contact with Julian andYoko Ono and the White Feather Foundation.

The results of these collaborations has precipitated into performances with 'the Whaledreamers', solo and other musical performances accentuating the plight of Whalesworld wide.

Bunna continues to heed the call from the many organisations world wide whose purpose is to protect our endangered sea creatures working with Napier Marten from The Cetaceous Insight, Captain Paul Watson of The Sea Shepard, GreenPeace and many more....

As an extension to his role as a Mirning Elder, Whaledreamer, Medicine Man, Song manMusician, Singer, Songwriter and Visual Artist, Bunna Lawrie is an educator and conducts Healing and Cultural Training Workshops taking experiences from the Mirning culture to explain the rhythm of nature, the relationships between mother earth, the sea and the sky.

As Bunna Lawrie and Coloured Stone are a premier band they are in high demand and any bookingsshould be considered well in advance, We will do all we can to accommodate our clients.We are prepared to help Community and we go to great lengths to support our people.Coloured Stone and Bunna are prepared to perform 1 hour, 2 hour and 3 hour shows.The Fee will reflect accommodation, travel, meals and performance length.Please allow us to give you a quote and we will do our best to make your event the best possiblewithin your budget.Coloured Stone require a 50 % deposit at the time of confirming the booking.This deposit can be negotiated where travel and accommodation are paid up front.Confirmation of any booking from either party will be by email.
