GBThe GB is a range-taking con-nector used for joining a singleconductor to 1/4” thick bus bar.Its two piece design separatesthe cable from the bus bar.

GBMThe GBM type connector clampsthe cable directly onto the busbar surface.

GCThe GC is a range-taking con-nector for joining two parallelcables to a 1/4” thick bus bar. Itstwo piece design separates thecables from the bus bar.

GCMThe GCM type connector clampsthe cables directly onto the busbar surface.

GKThe GK connector is a ground con-nector for joining three equalcables to a rod or tube in a paral-lel configuration. Acceptable fordirect burial in earth or concrete.

GDThe GD is a range-taking connector for joining two cablesto a rod or pipe in a parallel configuration.

Low Cost Water Pipe ClampsLow cost water pipe connectors are used for connecting grounding conduc-tor to water pipe or copper tube. The cast bronze ground clamps come witheither silicon bronze hardware or brass hardware. Clamps with siliconbronze hardware are UL467 Listed for direct burial in earth or concrete. There is also a line of cast bronze clamps for use with conduit. These areused for grounding rigid conduit systems and come with zinc plated hardware.

GC-AThe GC-A dual rated ground clamps are used for copper and aluminumcable. GC-A ground clamps are UL Listed for attaching either copper or aluminum conductors to copper water pipe, galvanized pipe or steel conduit.

GAR-TCThe GAR-TC features a pre-drilled pad allowing a 2-holecompression terminal to be con-nected to water pipe as well ascolumns and other cylindricalshapes. The terminal may beparalleled, 45° or 90° to the pipe.

GAR3902 SeriesThe GAR3902 Series is designed to connect one conductor to a rod, pipe, tube or rebar in a perpendicular or parallel configuration. Thisseries is supplied with plated steel hardware. The difference betweenthis series and our standard GAR connector is the rotating element inthe 3902 series that allows for perpendicular configurations. TheGAR3902 series with a BU suffix are supplied with DURIUM™ siliconbronze hardware, making them acceptable for direct burial in earth orconcrete.

GKAThe GKA is a range-taking terminal designed for joiningsmaller conductors to a flat surface such as a pad or enclo-sure. The GKA can be com-pletely installed with the use ofa standard screwdriver.

KPBThe KPB is a range-taking termi-nal designed for joining smallerconductors to a flat surface in aperpendicular configuration.

CL50-1The Copper Lay-in Lug isdesigned for grounding or bond-ing copper conductor to steelframe or other metal surfaceswhere a continuous run ispreferable.

QGFLThe QGFL BARTAP™ is an eye-in-basket connector for joining asingle cable to a bus bar or pad.B1 and B2 versions are availableto differentiate stud size options.

SampleSample BURNDYBURNDY®® Mechanical Grounding Connector Applications Mechanical Grounding Connector Applications

The Mechanical Grounding line is a family of direct burial, UL Listed connectors. Made of high coppercontent alloys, they use a nut and bolt design to provide the means for connecting copper cable tomany applications. Only the finest high copper alloys are used to ensure performance under the mostextreme environmental conditions. Where the direct burial symbol appears, that connector is capableof direct burial applications in earth or embedment in concrete.

Over 75 years of technological innovations make FCI-BURNDY® Mechanical Grounding Connectorsone of the most widely used, specified and highly respected lines in the industry. There are virtually nogrounding or bonding application problems that our products cannot solve. All FCI-BURNDY®

Mechanical Grounding Connectors are designed for easy installation and outstanding durability.

GGThe GG is for joining braid, bar, strap, or cable to a rod or tube.

The Direct Burial Symbol indicates that the connector is suitable for burial inEarth or concrete.

The Underwriters Laboratories symbol indicates that the connector meets thenoted UL standard.

The CSA symbol indicates that the connector meets the applicable standardsof the Canadian Standards Association.

FCI BURNDY® Products provides bonding solutions for swimming pools and spas. FCI BURNDY®

Products offers a complete pool and spa package that meets the requirements of NEC Article 680,Swimming Pools, Fountains and Similar Installations, and UL467, Grounding and Bonding Equipment.

National Electric CodeNEC, Article 680, outlines the bonding requirements for swimming pools. The Article states that a common bonding grid shall be permitted to be any of the following: (1) The structural reinforcing steelof a concrete pool where the reinforcing rods are bonded together by the usual steel tie wires or theequipment; (2) The wall of a bolted or welded metal rod; (3) A solid copper conductor, insulated, covered or bare, not smaller than 8 AWG; or (4) Rigid metal conduit or intermediate metal conduit ofbrass or other identified corrosion-resistant metal conduit. Additionally, an 8 AWG solid or larger solidcopper bonding conductor must be used to connect bonded parts to the grid.

Article 250, Grounding, states that grounding conductors and bonding jumpers shall be connected byexothermic welding, listed pressure connectors, listed clamps or other listed means.

Additionally, Article 680 requires that bonding of all electrical conductive surfaces must be maintainedwithin five (5) feet horizontally of the inside walls of the pool. Bonding covers the drain, rebar, waterinlet pipe, skimmer, ladder, slides, diving structure, underwater lighting, junction boxes (if within 5 feet),and/or water circulating/heating equipment.

Telecommunications

The booming wireless industry is a perfect candidate for the

Mechanical Grounding system. With experts predicting thatwireless base stations will dotthe landscape at the rate of oneevery six miles, Mechanical

Grounding offers the onlygrounding system that installs

quickly and easily, regardless of theweather. Traditional telephonecompanies have been MechanicalGrounding users for many years.

Architectural and ConstructionEngineers

Consultant engineering firms — the specifiers — appreciate thebenefits of having a sound, provengrounding system that’s easy toinstall.

Army Corps of Engineers

While the Army Corps of Engineershas not adopted one central standardfor grounding, Mechanical Groundinghas been included in several majorprojects of the Armed Forces.

Mass Transit

With the modernization and elec-trification of the nation’s railroadsunderway and the unstable cost of oil, BURNDY Mechanical Groundingis proud to be playing a role in therevitalization of this industry.

Utilities

Much success can be attributed to themany utility companies that haveinstalled the system for a number of applications. While grounding isimportant in any industry, the utilityindustry is especially susceptible to fault currents and may have themost at risk in terms of the services itprovides to the public.

Pool/Spa Bonding It’s the season for swimming pools, and FCI is the place to go for reliable,code-compliant pool/spa bondingsolutions. FCI offers a completepool/spa bonding system that is NECcompliant and has been tested underUL467, Grounding and BondingEquipment.
