Fellow Republicans, here we are in May 2015 and only a summer and fall away from 2016, the year we take back our Country. I am so excited to know the campaigns will begin and the primaries will be held and a candidate will emerge to be elected as our new leader in America. We must unite together with our strong beliefs such as the U.S. Constitution, Pro-Life/Family Values, Strong National Defense, Right to Bear Arms, Smaller Government, Balanced Budget, Repealing ObamaCare, Supporting Small Business, Decreasing Regulations, Natural Gas and Domestic Oil Production, and Cutting Spending. These are beliefs that, united together as Republicans will strengthen our government.

May 14th is our last meeting until September 10th and with the summer off, we should prepare ourselves by relaxing, resting, spending time with family and old friends and rejuvenating ourselves. When we resume our meetings in the fall, we will be preparing to select our candidates to support for the primaries. We must remember we are all “different shades of red”, but we are Republicans who must unite to elect a Republican as our President and Leader of the Free World. Make your reservations now to attend the May 14th meeting by emailing Mary at [email protected] or call 512-680-3780. Our guest, Sergeant Ratliff, will speak on “Identity Theft” which is a growing crime in our Nation, State, and County. Another event to RSVP is May 19th to hear our First Lady of Texas, Cecilia Abbott speak. Burnet Co Republican Women, Highland Lakes Republican Women, and Star Republican Women have joined efforts to make our voice heard and bring you this first annual event. Email Janice Estill at [email protected] to reserve your ticket now. reserve your ticket now.

IT’S ELECTION SEASON!

Although we’re not in the midst of the partisan election season, we ARE in the non-partisan election season throughout Central Texas and Burnet County. New and old faces will be leading our city governments, schools, emergency services districts, and utility providers. As most of us know, while the Party affiliation of the candidates are not printed on ballots, most of the candidates have clear records and often are active in either the Republican or Democrat Party. Before you make your way to the polls for local elections and by ballot or online for the PEC District Board elections, do your homework on the candidates just as you would those you chose to support in the GOP Primaries. Identify and actively support the conservative candidates that share your principles and values. Generally speaking, we don’t have the chance to distinguish clear and distinctive differences in candidates of non-partisan races since the vigor for public forums and debates for these local races is lacking. In addition, candidates for PEC District Board seats are not required to make public their financial and political action group supporters. Once again, the tools we use to vet our GOP candidates are not in place for non-partisan elections. With over 70% of the Burnet County voting population checking the Republican boxes on the ballots, let’s do our best to ensure that all public leadership positions are held by conservatives we can trust and count on. See you at the polls! Donna Holland Wilcox Chairman Burnet County Republican Party

Dear BCRW

Members Our Committee, thanks everyone. Besides all the nice items collected at the meeting, we also collected donations totaling $42 .00. We purchased a case of paper towels and a case of TP. They were so happy with everything and said the hair products were really needed. Some women now feel that someone cares and this can be a blessing to our BCRW members. Von
