BURSARY PROGRAM
Purpose Vulcan County Health and Wellness Foundation (VCHWF) would like to promote access to learning
opportunities for existing Health Care Workers in our community. Supplementary courses are
available for staff members to upgrade their education and specialize in various medical skills.
Eligibility The foundation will cover the cost of the course for individuals as long as they meet the following
criteria:
They currently work within Vulcan County.
They have medical certification in LPN, RPN or other health care profession.
They are recommended by their acting Supervisor at the time.
Application Process The Foundation does not have an application deadline, as we realize that courses are offered
throughout the year.
Applicants may apply by completing the application form before the course commences and
submitting it to the board. Appraisal may take a couple of months depending on timing of
board meetings.
Applications will be accepted after a course has been completed, however, approval depends
on the current funding and application numbers.
A short write-up on the benefits to the applicant’s career and the community is required. This
may be used for promotion for VCHWF in the future.
