One of the primary goals of Cimlogic is to improve manufacturing productivity. Cimlogic are able to take the ‘best of the best’ technologies to build rapid and robust solutions. One of these solutions is TrakSYS™; a world class, real-time decision making tool from Parsec, which delivers accurate, and actionable intelligence to the decision makers, for significant productivity improvement. TrakSYS™ can assist in achieving the following manufacturing objectives: o Increase capacity o Decrease time to produce o Increase return on assets o Reduce operating/conversion cost per unit o Better manage capital o Increase total shareholder returns System Requirements: The plant measured efficiency using a paper based model; there was a lack of visibility as the information was not available to everyone. It was also time consuming processing the raw data. In order to increase throughput, a system was needed that measured OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) in real-time. This visibility would enable Purity Soft Drinks to identify improvement opportunities. Purity Soft Drinks needed a flexible system to collect the data defined as critical by the plant (particularly to minimise operator workload on downtime justifications). The system Cimlogic identified which would fulfil the requirements of Purity Soft Drinks was TrakSYS™. The Solution The TrakSYS™ Performance Management System installed at Purity Soft Drinks monitors throughput, speed, and all stoppages, as well as calculating OEE and its components: Availability, Performance and Quality. The system automatically collects machine production counters, machine status and main downtime reasons. It communicates via the PLCs of the different machines in use on the PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) line, such as the Blower, the Filler, the Labeller, the Sleever and the Palletiser. TrakSYShas finally allowed us to ditch our old, inaccurate manual data collection system. Finally we have real-time performance information at our fingertips.
