1. Welcome & Introductions – Brad Miller, opened the meeting with a welcome and

introductions were made.

2. Review of Minutes – Minutes from the October 2014 meeting were approved.

3. Identify nominations committee – Brad Miller called for volunteers to serve as the

nominations committee in preparation for June 2015 committee election. Donna DeMartino,

Peter Varga, and David Armijo volunteered to serve.

4. CEOs Roundtable - William Harrell noted that the APTA transit board members and board

support seminar is in Denver this summer and he encouraged the CEOs to send their boards

and board support staff for this vital education.

5. Conversation with the FTA: Therese McMillan, acting administrator, with Carolyn Flowers,

FTA Senior Advisor, discussed the US DOT Secretary’s 30 year Framework for the Future and

the president’s budget proposal, among other initiatives coming out of Washington.

6. Report from the APTA Chair – Phil Washington welcomed attendees to Phoenix and thanked Brad

Miller for his leadership. He then described his signature initiative, a national day of advocacy on

April 9—Stand Up for Transportation Day—when every transit agency and business will unite

in common purpose with a unified message. He challenged everyone in the room to literally

sign up on a poster board, signifying their commitment to holding an event on April 9.
