The new Busch-triton® wall-mounted,

momentary-contact switch is probably

the most modern operating element for

building services control

systems.

It is designed for use with the

ABB i-bus® EIB and the

ABB Powernet EIB. With its elegant

lines, the frameless Busch-triton®

controller enhances any environment.

The ergonomical design facilitates

intuitive operation. Back-lit descriptive

labels unobtrusively show the func-

tions. The intelligent microprocessor

technology is very discrete.

Although the Busch-

triton® is capable of

performing an extre-

mely wide variety of

functions, it is the

easiest thing in the

world to operate.

As a rule, the Busch-triton® has threemomentary-contactswitches, which can beallocated to three diffe-rent programs of yourchoice (e.g., Light, Blindsand Ambient LightingControl). Each of theseswitches can executeup to three commands,which can also be repli-cated using a remoteinfrared controller.

Now, to the details:In our example, the topswitch has been alloca-ted to the program”Light”. If the switchis pressed on the left,the light becomesbrighter and, if pressedon the right, the light isdimmed. The switch ispressed in the centreto switch the light ONor OFF.

You’ll really apprecia-te the centre switch. Ithas been allocated tothe progam ”LightingScenes” and, thus,offers you two possibi-lities of preprogram-ming set lighting pat-terns, i.e., to call upstored lighting scenessimply by pressing theswitch.

Now, to the thirdswitch. This has beenallocated to the pro-gram ”Blind Control”.You move the blind upor down by pressingthe switch on the leftor right, respectively.When the switch ispressed in the centre,the blind stops. Pressit in the centre onceagain to adjust the louvres.

The infrared receiver isaccommodated behindthe black plexiglasscover at the top of theBusch-triton®. What isvisible is the selectorbutton in the centre,

which has three functions (see Figure).The permanently back-lit labelling field oneach control panelshows the user, dayand night, the functionallocated to the switch.Simultaneously, statusLED’s integrated in thecontrol panel indicatethe control state of thedevices or lampsconnected. A specialfeature: Both the label-ling field illuminationand the status LED’scan be automaticallyswitched off if youwish, e.g., in thebedroom at night.

Lightly touch the firstcontrol panel, and allthe lighting in yourliving room is switchedon. Press the right sideof the second controlpanel, and the readinglamp beside your favou-rite armchair lights up.Conversely, if you pressit on the left, you havestored the perfect illu-mination for a cosy eve-

ning in front of the TV.Tip the bottom switchwith your finger, andyour blinds are raised.These multiple functionsare extremely easy toset.Press the selector but-ton, and the desired sta-tus of the lamps, theblind, or even the hea-ting, is fixed and stored.You don’t even have tostand up to do this – itfunctions just as wellfrom the armchair, usingthe infrared remote con-trol.

The Single Busch-

triton® is the „smallest”.Designed to look likethe triple-switch version(without the selectorswitch and infraredmodule), the entire sur-face is a momentary-contact switch. It canbe programmed for aspecific function andcan execute three com-mands.

The Busch-triton® isavailable in six versionsin order that the scopeof functions required inany building can be fulfilled.

The basic version of theTriple Busch-triton® hasthree momentary-contact switches andcan, thus, control threeprograms and executenine commands.

The momentary-contactswitches are dual-assig-ned, so that the Busch-triton® can be used, onthe one hand, as anoperating element and,on the other, to controlthe heating. The room-thermostat function isactivated by pressingthe selector switch. Inthis function, the upperrocker is responsible forcontrolling the tempera-ture. The rocker ispressed on the left tolower the referencevalue and on the rightto raise it. You canactivate the differentoperating modes, suchas Comfort or Standby,via the centre momen-tary-contact switch. TheLC display shows thetemperature and mode.

The Triple Busch-

triton® with LC display

offers all the functionsof the basic version pluscomfort, e.g., a plain-text status display.

The Quintuple Busch-

triton® has been deve-loped for all those whorequire a wide scopeof functions. It isactivated via five con-trol panels.
