BUSINESS CONSERVATIONLEADERS BREAKFAST
OCTOBER 2 EVENT BENEFIT PROSPECTUS
LOVETHIS LAND
YOUR INVESTMENTin our shared vision for Whatcom CountyWhatcom Land Trust 2019 Business Conservation Leaders Breakfast
Since our start in 1984 Whatcom Land Trust has been preserving and protecting Whatcom’s special places for future generations. To date we have conserved over 24,000 acres of park, open space and agricultural lands, forests, shorelines and watersheds, and wildlife habitat. As our region continues to grow and become an ever more desirable place to live and do business, the work of Whatcom Land Trust becomes increasingly important to assuring a healthy, thriving community that reflects our Whatcom traditions and lifestyle.
Your sponsorship of this year’s Business Conservation Leaders Breakfast benefit is your investment in Whatcom Land Trust’s capacity to fulfill our shared vision for a future Whatcom County that is healthy, conserved and prosperous. Specificially, your sponsorship will underwrite event expenses so that 100% of the gifts raised at the event can be put to work preserving, protecting and engaging the community in caring for the Whatcom lands we love.
This year’s combined fundraising events raised a record-breaking $201,000 for our land conservation and stewardship programs, to support purchase of Skookum Creek, and to engage our community in meaningful conservation actions. Your sponsorship this year will help the Land Trust reach or exceed our ambitious goal of $210,000 to invest in the coming year’s programs and initiatives. These include following through on such projects as Governors Point, Skookum Creek II and other South Fork Nooksack Valley opportunities including Stewart Mountain, as well as agricultural conservation easements in the north county, and the California Creek Estuary at Drayton Harbor in Birch Bay, among others. Thank you for your consideration.
