Our PlaceEconomic opportunity, community charm and efficient use of land and resources are some of the key reasons why Stony Plain is an ideal choice for industrial and commercial development. The zoning of our business and industrial parks is flexible to allow for various types of land uses from manufacturing to large-scale office environments. The strength and growth of the local economy is propelled by its proximity to a comprehensive network of air, rail and ground transportation. The Town of Stony Plain is a municipality within the Tri-

Municipal Region, which is also comprised of Parkland County and the City of Spruce Grove. The three communities provide services to more than 70,000 people, which forms Stony Plain’s primary trade area. The secondary trade area, which extends about an hour’s drive west of Stony Plain and a 20-minute drive totheeast,ismadeupofanother245,000residents,bringingStony Plain’s total trade area to more than 300,000.

BUSINESS PARKS & COMMERCIAL AREAS

Major resources in Stony Plain or the tri-municipal region include coal, sand and gravel, petroleum, natural gas, and agriculture. The Edmonton Genesee power plant and the Fording Coal Mine are two sizeable contributors to the local economy. In addition, diversification into government services and light manufacturing has set the stage for long-term steady growth. Stony Plain also has a thriving tourist industry.

Stony Plain offers a stable business environment and opportunities for long-term growth. Serviced land prices are extremely competitive. We value the proximity to transportation networks.

– Ron Jodoin, President, Jen-Col Construction Ltd.
