INTRODUCTION• Ethics is a set of rules that define right
and wrong conduct.• Business ethics can be defined as written
and unwritten codes of principles and values that govern decisions and actions within a company.
• Ethical issues include the rights and duties between a company and its employees, suppliers, customers and neighbors, its fiduciary responsibility to its shareholders.
What is ETHICAL Behavior?
Ethical behavior is that which is morally accepted
as “good” or “right” as opposed to “bad” or
“wrong”.
ADVANTAGES• Higher revenues – demand from positive
consumer support.• Improved brand and business awareness and
recognition.• Better employee motivation and recruitment.• Enhances company’s reputation• Better relations with society.• New sources of finance – e.g. from ethical
investors.
CONCLUSION“Ethics are important not only in business but in all aspects of life because it is an essential part of
the foundation on which a civilized society is built. A business or
society that lacks ethical principles is bound to fail sooner or later.”
