We are proud to present IIAM, an institute with a big dream. IIAM was estd. in 1987, the 1st
autonomous B-School in AP, promoted by Late Shri. S Alwardas to facilitate the students with
an autonomous institute on par with IIM's and other premier management institutes in the
country. IIAM offers an updated curriculum which helps the student to cater for the require-
ment of the industry.
IIAM had a very humble beginning with a big objective. Our founder who never believed the
word compromise had promoted IIAM with an objective that "Institutions are not build by
bricks but by Faculty". IIAM's strength has always been the faculty starting with Dr. K.K. Das
who had offered his services in US at Harvard, Georgia Tech etc. Dr. Das had developed the
curriculum, which is being updated from time to time by senior faculty, entrepreneurs and
people from the industry.
Having built good curriculum management felt the need for good infrastructure and hence
facilitated the institution with A/C Classrooms, Case Discussion rooms, Seminar halls, Amphi
Theatre, Auditorium etc so that the students of IIAM can be trained to be multi dimensional
personalities which helps them to be effective managers.

Alwardas Group of Educational Institutions was promoted by Late Shri. S. Alwardas, former Educational Minister of AP,
when he found the need of privatizing educational institutions in Vizag. He being a educational minister has taken up
the task and promoted institutions to cater from Play School to Research & Consultancy level.
He started 20 educational institutions in various locations of Vizag to facilitate the people who lived around those areas
as transportation was difficult those days. Having promoted institutions which could help people of Vizag to pursue
higher studies, he felt the need for professional institution and had initiated the first law college in 1980 which had pro-
duced more than 20,000 lawyers till date. As his quest to facilitate people was never ending he promoted IIAM estd.
1987, the 1st autonomous B-School in AP an institution on par with IIM's by inviting Dr. K. K. Das as the founder direc-
tor. Dr. Das was one of the few Indians to study and teach in Harvard and pioneered management education in India.
The next generation of Late Shri. S. Alwardas has taken up their fathers cause as their objective and identified the need
for a good school as many children from Vizag are pursuing education in schools like Good Sheperds, lovedale etc..

and facilitating the school with sports academy, art village and DIY concepts, so that every child of this school will get

The post graduate program at IIAM is
designed to help students develop the
knowledge and capabilities needed to
meet the challenges of modern socie-
ty. In addition to developing expertise
in a given field, the students are
encouraged to take advantage of the
opportunities for broad learning and to
become creative, intellectual leaders and problem solvers whose
passion for learning is lifelong.
The full time PGDM program is spread over 4 semesters. During the
first two semesters the students base their studies on core of sub-
jects in business administration and from the third semester they
opt for dual specialization depending on their interest, and pursue
courses in the specialized areas.
One of the most exciting features of PGDM program at IIAM is the
opportunity for students to interact with the industry on a regular basis by way of seminars, mini
projects, viva voce sessions, assignments and summer internship.
Orientation & Preparatory ProgrammeIIAM conducts its Orientation Programme in a novel way. The very first day of the programme is made spe-
cial for the students with a formal inauguration and ceremonial address by the Guest and the administra-
tive heads. The next few days are generally devoted to experience sharing sessions by corporate executives
as well as entrepreneurs, including illustrious alumni. During the orientation period outbound activities
leading to development of team building and problem solving skills are also organized for the incumbents.
In addition Preparatory classes are conducted in accountancy, statistics and economics depending on the
undergraduate courses pursued by the incumbents.
Pedagogy
Pedagogy at IIAM Vizag is a mix of many methodologies. Apart from the usual chalk-n-talk, there is a
conscious effort to make the sessions interactive by using case studies and references of latest devel-
opments in the relevant field. In addition, students are encouraged to undertake mini projects in all
major courses to hone their research and analytical skills. Latest tools and techniques like Business
Simulations are used wherever possible. Ample amount of guest lectures are organized by inviting lead-
ing corporate executives. The approach adopted seeks to empower the students to harness their poten-

Students who seek admission in
IIAM have to produce rank card of any
of the following admission tests MAT/
CAT/ XAT/ CMAT/ GMAT/ ATMA/ their
respective states CET.
In case of overseas students or spe-
cial cases who are unable to take
MAT/XAT/ CMAT/CAT/GMAT/ATMA
special written test will be conducted
by IIAM.
A Bachelor's degree recognised by
Indian Universities for equivalent in
Commerce, Arts, Science, Engineering,
Agriculture etc., is the minimum pre-
qualification.
Candidates appearing for the final
year bachelor's degree examination
may also apply and the admission is
subject to confirmation on the candi-
dates passing the pre-qualifier.
The application form and prospec-
tus for admission into IIAM can be
obtained from the office of the
Director on payment of Rs. 400/-,
which is non-refundable.
Students should own lap-tops as
the Campus is Wi-Fi enabled facilitat-
ing to utilize it full extent.
The decision of the Institute in all
matters of selection is final.

in Andhra Pradesh. PGDM part time of
IIAM Vizag is not a distance learning
program or a correspondence program.

These MDPs fur-nish the executives a chance to refresh and rejuvenate their knowledge and to reacquaint themselves with pres-ent-day thinking and to gain insights and self-enrichment. The participants get chance to familiarize themselveswith the latest tools, techniques and skills spanning different streams of management such as EducationManagement, General Management, Human Resources, Finance,Information Systems, Marketing, OperationsManagement, Strategic Management and Sustainable Development.
IIAM accepts requests from organizations for conducting customized training programs for their executives at dif-ferent levels, and offers unique programs to suit the business and developmental needs of client organizations.Standard modules from regular MDPs are also combined and adapted, wherever necessary, to suit the require-ments of client organizations.
The duration of these programs ranges from two days to six months depending upon the variety, magnitude andcomplexity of topics covered. The In-company Programs (ICP) are conducted at the Institute as well as in the prem-ises of the client organizations.

PLACEMENTSProcess of placement starts at IIAM from the month of December. 'Placement Cell'
proactively keeps in touch with prospective employers round the year and ensures
that their visits are slotted to campus at the earliest. Apart from some big and
popular names IIAM also prefer new and upcoming companies as it provides great
opportunity for students to learn. The growth of Vizag city offers tremendous job
opportunities to our students in Banking, Insurance, IT and other services apart

In order to ensure the probability of selection, IIAM conducts elaborate Mock
Interviews and GD's from the start of the program. This enables the students
to identify their weaker areas and gives them enough time to improve these
