Stanislav ChvalaBSc(Econ) International andFinancial Economics (withProfessional Experience)

My experience of undergraduate

education at Hull University

Business School has exceeded my

expectations. For me the best thing

about the school is the flexibility that

it allows you, which is combined with

plenty of support. I spent my

placement year at Morgan Stanley

during the worst financial crisis in

decades. Believe it or not, this was an

exciting time. Seeing a link between

financial news and the data on my

screen helped me to appreciate the

theory I’d been taught during my

economics classes. More importantly, I

was challenged and as a result I was

developing my skills constantly. It was

hard work, with long hours, but I was

fortunate to be placed with a great

team of people who took a personal

interest in my progress and who made

the job enjoyable. Participating in the

Professional Experience Programme

has been the best career-related

decision I’ve made so far.
