SKCET felicitates the Cyber Warrior Laureates on winning prizes at TN Police Hackathon

Principal Madam Dr.J.Janet appreciated the student teams and faculty mentors for

having bagged the Third prize with a cash award of Rs.10,000/- and certificates at

the "Capture the Flag (CTS)" contest conducted by Tamil Nadu Police in association

with IIT-M Cyber Arangam at Chennai DGP office on 23.11.19 .

Team 1:Kabilan (II yr CSBS) and Indrajith (II yr CSE) Team Mentors: Dr.Balakrishnan, HOD-CSBS and Ms.Priya, CSE Team 2: Adithyan (III yr IT) and Balaji.S (III yr IT) Team Mentor: Dr.Susila,HOD-IT and Mr.Nagendran,IT Another special achievement is that both the winning teams were awarded with 'Cyber

warrior badge' and inducted as volunteers in TN Police Cyber club to protect the State

from cyber attacks.

The students have reached this winning podium among 1348 total registrations and 100

finalists to showcase successful coding skills for all extensive problem statements posed

to them. The technology contribution of the students helps to develop a cyber resilient

eco-system to fight the growing cyber attacks in the state and aid the police department

as an Institutional Social Responsibility (ISR), best practice of SKCET.

CSBS/CSE/IT-FELICITATION TO HACKATHON WINNERS

The students of SKCET have been proving their exemplary coding and hacking skills in

various competitions this year at Smart India Hackathon 2019, Digital economy

Hackathon by RBI , Hack Harvard at Harvard University, USA and won laurels at both

National and International level.





Principal Madam had a lively interaction with Dr.Lini Mathew, Professor and Head,

Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, NITTTR, Chandigarh. Along

with Dr.K.Lakshmi, HOD, Department of EEE, SKCET. They engaged in a prolific

discussion on various exchange programmes and academic collaborations in association

with NITTTR.

NITTTR SHORT TERM COURSE ON SOLAR CELL DESIGN-DAY 1

Inaugural ceremony of NITTTRC sponsored one week STC on “Thin Film Quantum Solar cell design and Fabrication for Green Energy System by EEE

Dr.K.Lakshmi, HOD/EEE SKCET welcomed the gathering. Dr.Lini Mathew,

Professor & Head, Electrical Engineering, NITTTR Chandigarh and

Dr.M.D.Kannan, Professor, PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore delivered the

inaugural plenary address.

Key-Take aways:

Dignitaries shared notable concepts on the evolution of Thin film technology in the

field of Renewable Energy Sources and Measures to impart the shrinkage of complex

circuit to Tiny network using Quantum DOT cells.





AICTE FDP ON DEEP LEARNING: DAY 8 - FORENOON SESSION

To facilitate exposure to latest pedagogical methods in Research, the Eighth day of the

AICTE Sponsored Two Weeks FDP on “Deep Learning and Computational

Intelligence in Bioinformatics” commenced today. The Resource Person

Dr.D.Surendran, Professor, Department of CSE, SKCET enlightened the participants

on „Deep Learning with NVIDIA – Docker‟ and provided an overview on Tesla Data

Center GPUs for Servers, Virtual Compute-Intensive Server workloads, Expanding

Horizons with NVIDIA in the Cloud and Visual Computing Solutions for Game

Development.





ECE- STUDENT INPLANT TRAINING AT SUNSHIV ELECTRONICS

Students from II ECE attended 10 days In-plant training at Sunshiv Electronics,

Coimbatore on Embedded Programming Using PIC Microcontroller.





The FN session on “Thin Film Quantum Solar cell design and Fabrication for Green

Energy System” was handled by Er.Selvakumar, Project Engineer, Power Projects

Chennai .He highlighted the concepts of Battery Enrichment in Green Energy system.






MCT - HOD INTERACTION WITH STUDENTS

Dr. T. A. Selvan, Head of the department, Mechatronics Engineering gave a

motivational address to the II Year and III Year students to commemorate the

beginning of the semester with confidence and enthusiasm.





ECE – TUTOR-WARD INTERACTION

As a part of fresh start for the even semester of 2019-20, Dr. S. Sophia, HoD, ECE

addressed the II & III year students along with respective class tutors and year

coordinator, highlighting the importance of the upcoming semester. They encouraged

the students to participate in all the events and motivated to explore the academics,

both practically and theoretically.





CSBS - STUDENT ENTREPRENUERSHIP CONFERENCE

Vishnu Sarath from II CSE C(TCS) under CSBS, has attended the Global

Powerhouse Entrepreneurs National Achievers Congress 2019 at Dubai

representing his company "0 and 1" at Dubai on Nov 22 and 23. He is the Student-

Entrepreneur from India to participate in the meet. He has been selected to be a part of

it, to gain exclusive access to global business and entrepreneurial superstars with

game-changing strategies and a great learning to hone the skills needed for personal

and corporate success.

CSBS – STUDENT CERTIFICATION

Naveen Kumar and Nithinfrom II CSE C(TCS) participated in the Codefest 2019 – the

annual coding festival of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, IIT

(BHU) Varanasi and received the certificates.





FDP ON DEEP LEARNING: DAY 8 - AN SESSION

The resource person for the afternoon session was Dr.G.Sudha Sadasivam, Professor

and Head, Department of CSE, PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore. She gave a

detailed insight on "Parallel Machine Learning techniques for Bioinformatics". This

session will facilitated the range of options that meet the needs of developers and

researchers with various levels of Machine Learning.





EEE – WARM WELCOME NOTE BY HOD

Dr.K.Lakshmi, HoD/EEE interacted with EEE students and discussed the forth

coming academic activities. The students were encouraged to participate in National and

International hackathons.





IT – SEMESTER GREETING BY HOD

Dr.N.Susila, Head of the Department, Information Technology welcomed the Second

Year Students for the even semester of the academic year 2019-2020. The following

CSBS - HOD ADDRESS & GREETING

A warm welcome was given to the students of II CSE C(TCS) under CSBS and the

subject handling faculty members by Dr. S Balakrishnan and Mrs. G. IgnishaRajathi,

along with an Apex- students crew. The magazine for Academic Year 2019-2020 Odd

Sem was displayed and the glimpses of SEM-3 video was played along with faculty

sharing the goal and targets for this semester. The faculty members and students were

welcomed with a small memento.
