BWFAC NAFAS Shoot Report 18.10.2015 47 Archers signed in for our NFAS shoot on 19 th October 2015. It was particularly interesting, given the fall off in our own shooting numbers in those classes, that 11 of them were XB, UL, or BH. The courses were surprisingly dry, the weather overcast but without rain and everyone had a great time. The LB men’s was a fiercely fought draw with Gerry Tierny taking the honours over Alberto Martinelli on a count of 24s. Gerry was also involved in a right royal scrap for first place last week at our ILAA (longbows only) shoot. After a long battle he overtook Russell French by two points on the penultimate target. So, on the last target of the day Russell needed an inner kill (24 points) to win, and for Gerry to score a kill (20 points) or lower. Russell hit the inner kill and Gerry was about ¾ of an inch outside it, so Russell took the honours. Phew! Fantastic shooting. Well done both of them. It was a delight to see Bob Miles shooting well with his really primitive bit of stick. Great stuff! BWFAC NAFAS Shoot Report 18.10.2015

47 Archers signed in for our NFAS shoot on 19th

October 2015. It was particularly interesting, given

the fall off in our own shooting numbers in those classes, that 11 of them were XB, UL, or BH.

The courses were surprisingly dry, the weather overcast but without rain and everyone had a great

time.

The LB men’s was a fiercely fought draw with Gerry Tierny taking the honours over Alberto

Martinelli on a count of 24s. Gerry was also involved in a right royal scrap for first place last week at

our ILAA (longbows only) shoot. After a long battle he overtook Russell French by two points on the

penultimate target. So, on the last target of the day Russell needed an inner kill (24 points) to win,

and for Gerry to score a kill (20 points) or lower. Russell hit the inner kill and Gerry was about ¾ of

an inch outside it, so Russell took the honours. Phew! Fantastic shooting. Well done both of them.

It was a delight to see Bob Miles shooting well with his really primitive bit of stick. Great stuff!

The food was excellent. Many thanks to all who helped including chefs, marshals, parking attendants

and all. We look forward to next year.

Still smiling!
