STUDENT’S DESCRIPTIONS

5-6 years old in a class of 20.

SES – mostly middle class students.

50% split between genders.

Cultural diversity – split up between Caucasian and African American.

Small amount of students on IEP.

CIRRICULUM Common Core State Standards for

Mathematics – Kindergarten….

“Solve addition and subtraction word problems, and add and subtractwithin 10, e.g., by using objects or drawings to represent the problem”

OBJECTIVE/GOALS

Given basic addition problems, the students will be able to solve these problems by demonstrating their understanding with at least 80% accuracy.

ADDITION PRACTICE Assuming the students have already been

taught a lesson on addition in the past.

Have students come up to smartboard and play game.
