Muscles, joints, and bones are responsible for our movement. Our Skeletal System is the system that consists of our bones and is the

reason that our body can stay together. We have bones all over our body, except for our ears and nose, which have

bones, but include cartilage.

We have joints in our bending parts of our body .Without joints we wouldn’t be able to bend.

We need muscles so we can pull all our bones together. There are 2 main types of the skeleton, the axial and the appendicular

skeletons. Bones grow because of osteoblasts and osteoclasts

Notes on the Skeletal System

The skeletal system works with all of the other systems simultaneously. It holds them all in place. It is the foundation of your body.

2. The adult skeleton has 206 bones that can weigh up to 20lbs or more!!3.The smallest bones in your body are found in the middle of your ear

4. The largest bone in your body is your femur, it is 25% of your height!!5. The scull of a baby is broken in 2 parts and is very soft. By 18 months

the soft spots vanish!!
