Psychoanalysis

• Its a form of psychotherapy which was developed Sigmund Freud, which helps patients become aware of their long, repressed unconscious feelings

Definition

• They listen to patients talking, looking for clues for the possible reasons however the patient may resist the interpretation.

• Individuals are not aware of the cause of their behaviour, emotions or health. Some of these are in the unconscious level or in the conflicts from childhood. Therapist trace the unconscious and help to deal with it.

• The patients talks about what they are thinking even if it isn’t relevant. Freud believed that this way the unconscious factor s are uncovered bringing the unconscious to conscious.
