We all know St Patrick’s Day is celebrated on March 17th, but

what is it for?

Fun Fact: St. Patrick is a well know saint. In stories he is said to have banished all of the snakes out of Ireland. These stories are false.

Fun Fact: The typical meal for St Patrick’s Day includes corned beef and cabbage.

Who was Saint Patrick?

• Born: Britain to a wealthy family. Date unknown

• He died: March 17th around 460 B.C. (St Patrick's Day)

• When he was about 16, he was taken prisoner by Irish raiders that were attacking his family's house and land.

• He was taken to Ireland and spent 6 years in captivity.

• He worked as a shepherd • He then taught his religion to the Irishmen.
