John Forrests expeditions

On my third expedition we travelled from Geraldton in Western Australia all the way to Adelaide. This journey was really difficult and we nearly died because of the lack of water. Unfortunately we also ran into some hostile people. Who were these people?

When I was 22 I went on my first major expedition. I travelled over 2000 miles to find Leichhardts party, a man who had gone exploring earlier, but he hadnt yet come back. Was I able to finish ? But were we the first people to cross from Western to Eastern Australia?

I was a very careful person and I made sure that we had enough water to last us for the whole trip and we never took any risks.Click me to continue

Wrong, I took my job seriously and I made sure my men were kept safe and well fed at all times. I even planned the water stops for horses as well as my men! Click me to continue
