Tungsten carbide & steel tools for ammunition
Any ammunition tools:
- Drawing dies, punching and stamping dies, trimming dies, blanking dies, heading dies, front dies, piercing dies, body dies, sizing and removal dies, die holders
- Punch gauges, shape gauges
-Stamping punches, cutting punches, blanking and cupping punches
- Base feelers ...
COATINGS
For several years specific coatings have been more and more important and AGIR TECHNOLOGIES, in partnership with the best-known companies, proposes coatings, chosen according to the final application of the tools.
Cold Rolling Rolls with Titan-coating
CARBIDE GRADES
All the tools are always for very different applications. In partnership with our suppliers of raw materials, carbide grades were developed, specific to each application. Therefore AGIR TECHNOLOGIES uses about
60 different carbide grades
- From 0.7 to 18µ (grain size)- From 3 to 30% cobalt- With various binds: cobalt, Chrome, Nickelchosen according to the final application.

1935 – 1955
Pierre FERRET and his son Robert develop tungsten carbide
tools: dies for wire, tubes and cold heading industry
It is in the 55's that the company RIVOM decides to manufacture its first machines dedicated to
the repair of drawing dies (RIVEABRASIVE) as well as
drawing benches
Historical background and Machine tools
1950 – 1965The company PIVOT manufactures its first grinding machines as well as a
small radius grinding machine in the 1965's, with instruction manual
Historical background and Machine tools
1960 – 1970The company PIVOT develops a range of machines to repair
small diameter TC dies (from 0.10mm)
Historical background and Machine tools
1975MOUTON takes PIVOT over and
develops different lapping and grinding machines to repair TC Dies, among
which the famous MI 410

1990MOUTON is taken over by RIVOM.
MOUTON introduces the first wire shaving machine
Historical background and Machine tools
Since 2005 AGIR TECHNOLOGIES has developed a complete range of
machines managed by OPLC. Those machines are more precise than the
“OLD” MOUTON machines which were however so well-known in the whole
world
2010The largest range of machines in the World dedicated to the
production and repair of steel or TC tools.
Historical background and Machine tools
- Machining of dies from 0.6 mm to 6 mm- Grinding (diamond needles)- Control- Polishing (diamond paste)- Automatic feeding in diamond paste- New head with angle positioning
allowing the working of the cone and calibrating part
- Electric spindle 50,000 rpm
AUTOMATIC MACHINES
AUTOMATIC MACHINES
- Machining of small diameter diesfrom 0.15 mm to 1 mm
- Lapping of the working cone witha steel pin and diamond paste
- Automatic grinding of the pin- Automatic feeding in diamond pa
DIE CLEANING MACHINE
AUTOMATIC MACHINES
Machine to clean drawing dies in tungsten carbide and in diamond.First machine in the world using theprinciple of steam cleaning. All the operations are managed by the OPLC :
- Automatic positioning - Cleaning- Drying- Ejection
GRINDING AND POLISHING MACHINE
GRINDING MACHINES
- Computer with numerical display- Chuck diameter 80 mm- For dies from 1 to 20 mm- Simple to use- Precise (display in micron)- Automatic advance by motor step by s- Memorising of two working cycles- Angle from 0 to 30°- Reciprocating motion from 0 to 25 mm- Different types of spindles in option(air or electric)
GRINDING MACHINES
- Colour touch-sensitive computer- Chuck diameter 100 mm- Grinding pass and reciprocating motion by motor step by step (precision 1 micron)
- Motorised angle from 0 to 70°- Angle precision +/- 5 minutes- Memorising of the complete profileof the first die :
- entry cone- working cone- cylindrical part
Automatic working of the following dies without any manual operation
- Different types of spindles in option

GRINDING MACHINES
GRINDING AND POLISHING MACHINE
- Real production grinding machine - Internal grinding machine with a
complete frame allowing thus to grintools with cooling by lubrication
- Colour touch-sensitive computer- Chuck diameter 125 mm- Precision of the axes at the micron- Motorised angle from 0 to 90°- Angle precision +/- 5 minutes- Up to 5 operations memorised
on the first piece and repeated on althe following pieces without anyoperator’s adjustment
- Different types of spindles in option

STEEL PIN GRINDER
- Manual- Automatic- Computer with numerical displa- Automatic reciprocating motion- Angle numerical display- Automatic grinding pass
Various options possible for
those machines
THE MAIN ADVANTAGES OF THE NEW SERIES OF MACHINES
RIGIDITY, RELIABILITYFrom the smallest one to the most important one, the main parts
are in tempered steel or in cast steel, which allows to better absorb vibrations.
All our machines are about 30 to 50% heavier than the competitors' ones who mainly use aluminium.
SIMPLICITY
Designed first for our own production needs, our machines are tested in our production departments
where we manufacture tungsten carbide tools and where our operators give their opinion on all the
new devices in order for us to make constant improvements.
THE MAIN ADVANTAGES OF THE NEW SERIES OF MACHINES
VERY HIGH QUALITY OF THE MATERIALS
Motors, electric components, spindles … are chosen by suppliers that are well-known in the whole
world and have representations on the 5 continents.
THE MAIN ADVANTAGES OF THE NEW SERIES OF MACHINES
PROGRAMME DESIGN We master the design of the numerical programmes to run the
machines. For several years we havedeveloped more and more complex automatic machines.
Which allows us to master thedesign and realisation of automated motions, and this with a
very high precision.
THE MAIN ADVANTAGES OF THE NEW SERIES OF MACHINES
REAL GRINDING MACHINES FOR PRODUCTION
- All our automatic machines, are managed by an OPLC different according to
the type of machine, which allows to adjust with high precision all the grinding parameters (advance,
reciprocating motion, delay time …). These parameters are kept in the OPLC memory in order to
repeat the same positions on the following tools. - Advance motor step by step with micron rule and control by
numerical display on the OPLC.
THE MAIN ADVANTAGES OF THE NEW SERIES OF MACHINES
SAFETY – NORMS
Following the CE Norms, our machines are totally secured thanks to electric safety sensors fixed on
the safety hood.
THE MAIN ADVANTAGES OF THE NEW SERIES OF MACHINES
MADE IN FRANCE
- Our machines are designed and built in France.
- Our machines, thanks to our complete skill of the manufacturing process, are very competitive.
- INDEED, the QUALITY / PRICE ratio is such that at present, on the world market, there is no other machine close to this ratio.
THE MAIN ADVANTAGES OF THE NEW SERIES OF MACHINES
MOUTON Shaving Machines
• In order to get a better quality wire : one solution = SHAVING
• Principle : suppression of impurities on the wire surface (corrosion, calamine, etc) by chipping
• Application : ferrous / non ferrous from 1.50 mm to 14 mm according to the materials to be shaved.
Shaving heads and machines
TR02 : New shaving headintroduced at WIRE Düsseldorf in 2006
TR01 : Shaving head up to 5.5mm Shaving machine MR with chip conveyor
Metal Conveyor BeltsFor over 15 years AGIR TECHNOLOGIES
as produced and sold the GMA trade-mark of stainless steel conveybelts dedicated to the food-processing and mechanical industry
• We only introduced a few machines in this conference.
• We can manufacture many others, adapted to your needs and requirements
• If you have any question, do not hesitate to make an enquiry.
