Project A: Digital Graphic Editing

This project was intended for a freshman geography class, who needed to locate information through the use of books, magazines & Internet sources.

After they located their information, they would then put together a presentation through the use of a Word document or PowerPoint. An LCD projector would be used by the students to present their projects.

Project A: Continued

My project contained nine slides with students utilizing the library’s resources and using online resources in the library lab.

The project also demonstrated how the students could present their projects with the help of an LCD projector.

Project B: ASSURE Lesson Plan

My ASSURE lesson plan focused on using resources for research.

The plan was designed for eleventh grade students, who were enrolled in English III classes, where they would be working on a research paper.

Prior to the lesson, the media specialist would evaluate information and put together a PowerPoint presentation.

Project B: Continued The PowerPoint presentation would given

to the students in hard copy, to be used during the media specialist’s presentation and for ready-reference purposes.

The PowerPoint presentation would be done on an LCD projector.

After the research project, the media specialist would evaluate whether the lesson was effective and/or make changes.

The PowerPoint would the students with online resources for their papers.

Project D: Multimedia Kit

My multimedia kit would be developed for collaboration with a classroom teacher on the Holocaust.

The kit would work well with grades 9-12, but its intended audience would be sophomore English II students, who had read both Night by Elie Wiesel and The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank.

Project D: Continued

The kit that I developed contained videos, books, graphic novels, maps, photographs, interviews and websites.

The kit would be divided among groups and used to produce a display for the rest of the class, such as a PowerPoint, poster, or a newspaper of stories about the Holocaust.

Project E: Proposal Writing

The proposal’s title was “Enhancing Student Achievement Through Technology”

Its intention would be to provide technology to help improve student achievement.

I included information in my proposal about the school and the community it draws from because it gives an understanding of the need.

Using the Microsoft Excel program helped me develop an easy-to-read graph of what my expenditures would be.

I used the Microsoft Access program to develop an inventory list of the equipment I had purchased.

Project H: Audio This project allowed me to use the audio

program Audacity, which was new and exciting for me.

The book I used was Encounter by Jane Yolen and the target learners were 6th grade students.

I used the song “Take me there” by Rascal Flatts for my introduction and conclusion.

The subject area involved library research and being aware of different points of view.

Project J: WebQuest My project centered around introducing

freshmen students to the library and its resources through a scavenger hunt.

The students were given a introduction to the library by the media specialist and then were divided into groups to work on the scavenger hunt.

They were given a worksheet with questions to complete and then put together a presentation themselves on how to find library resources.

Project J: Continued

My intention with this project was for the students to work together to find the answers to the scavenger hunt and then collaborate on an oral presentation in which they would “educate” their fellow classmates on how to use the library. Hearing it from their peers would reiterate what the media specialist was trying to convey to them.

In Closing... This class was very helpful to me because it

made me more aware of technology that I could be using for my library presentations.

Not only was the class helpful, but so were my classmates. It was one of the best online classes I have taken because we helped each other when there was need for clarification.

Thank you to everyone for guidance and especially to Dr. Lai for her help and understanding in this class!
