THE GIFT OF THE MAGI

Once upon the time there was a couple name Della and Jim. It was getting close to Christmas time and they didn’t have enough money to buy each other Christmas gifts. Della had long hair and Jim had a golden watch that was giving to him from his grandfather.

So, Della only had about $0.87 to get Jim something. Della decided to cut her hair for $27.00 to buy Jim a gift. She got him a gold chain for his watch.

Jim didn’t have any money at all , so he sold his watch that his grandfather gave him to get Della a gift. He bought her a set of combs with a bunch of jewels on them.

He came home from work and saw that Della had cut her hair and he was very surprise. Jim gave Della her gift and she opened it and it was the combs she always wanted for her hair. She hugged him and said “My hair grows quick!”.

Della gives Jim his gift and he opened it. He looked at it and smiled. He said “ I’m sorry ,but I sold my watch to buy your combs”. Della said “ Well, lets put our gifts away and keep them for awhile.

So they sold each other gifts and now they can not use them.
