Living more energy efficient
Trying to make the Earth cleaner
Reduce, reuse and recycle
What does it mean to “go green”?
Randolph-Henry plants trees.
Randolph-Henry recycles aluminum cans.
Many kids ride the bus to school to help the environment.
This cardboard could have been recycled.

Turn the computer off when it’s not in use.
Stony Point Elementary in Albemarle County and Magna Vista High School in Henry County were recognized by the Green Ribbon Schools Program.
Both schools have reduced energy usage in the past four years, have incorporated gardens into lessons and activities, and buy much of their food from local farms.
Magna Vista’s landscaping provides cover for wildlife, and the school works with the Dan River Basin Association to raise and release native trout.
How other schools are going green..
More people should have energy-efficient washing machines.
Propane isn’t a good source of energy because it’s nonrenewable.
More people should drive smaller cars because they get more MPG.
People need to stop clear-cutting forests because animals are losing their homes!!
Florescent light bulbs use less wattage to put of the same amount of light.
Always unplug your phone charger when you’re not using it.
