The Standing Committee of European Central Bank Unions was set up by the initiative of:

•Paolo Andréini (Unione Sindacale della - Banca d ’Italia)•Maurice Gousseau (Syndicat National autonome- Banque de France)•Wolfgang Clotten (ÖTV- Die Deutsche Bundesbank)

The first congress was held in Rome, on the 25 th of September 1964. Trade Union cohesion continued to grow throughbilateral contacts
