Corona Virus COVID-19 Update A letter was sent out to our parent community on Monday outlining the measures we have put in place based on the most recent directive from the Department of Education. A further update went out via our School Stream app this morning. We will continue to remind the students about the importance of practising appropriate health and hygiene measures both at school and at home. We have put additional measures in place to help minimise the risk. The Department of Educations directive is available on our website. The left hand section outlines the events that are going ahead, this is the green section. Events that have been postponed are in orange and those that have been cancelled are in red. These are unprecedented times and we are doing our best to ensure the health and safety of students and staff. Our actions are guided by the Department of Education who are working in alliance with the Department of Health. Swimming Age Champions Congratulations to our Swimming Age Champions for 2020. ILPs and PLPs A big thank you to all of the parents and students who participated in the development of individualised/personalised learning plans over the past few weeks. Music Room Donation Thank you to our Crossing Supervisor, Norm Jones who has very generously donated a Ganjo to the music program at our school. The Ganjo (Australia) is a six string banjo tuned in the standard tuning of a six string guitar. Pictured here with the Ganjo is Zephyr of 5/6A.

Outdoor learning 2K spent some valuable time in the garden with Deb our Gardening Learning Support Officer. We learnt all about sowing different seeds as the seasons change, how seeds are dispersed throughout the world, which countries our plants come from and also the history of the banana tree. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us Deb!

School Banking - Volunteer Banking Coordinator wanted Are you interested in volunteering some of your time? Our School Banking Coordinator is looking for a volunteer to take up this role. The role only requires a very small amount of time each week to collect the students school banking and make the deposit to the bank. You will also be required to coordinate with the school and distribute any materials and rewards. If you are interested in this role, please contact the school office. Please note at this time the School banking Program will be closed from March 20 and will recommence at the start of Term 2. Please don’t bring your deposit book with your weekly banking into school and we will notify you when banking will recommence.

Mufti Day - Wear Orange The Silent Disco and kindness activities scheduled for this Friday have been postponed, payments will be held over for the next disco. Students are still encouraged to wear Orange on Friday 20 March to promote the National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence. This week every child at school is discussing what they can do to help stop bullying, in school or online, here are some examples from Year 5.
