CHAPTER 4
An Act to amend The Highway Traffic Act
Assented to March 30th, 1978
H ER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Ontario, enacts as
follows:
1.-(1) Paragraph 15b of ~ubsection 1 of section 1 ~f The High- ~a1/lkb. way Traffic A ct, bemg chapter 202 of the Revised Statutes amended
of Ontario, 1970, as enacted by the Statutes of Ontario, 1973, chapter 45, section 1, is amended,
(a) by striking out "102 inches" in the third line and inserting in lieu thereof "2.6 metres"; and
(b) by striking out "35 feet" in the fourth line and inserting in lieu thereof "eleven metres".
(2) Subpara~raph ii of paragraph lSc of subsection 1 of t~e ~ll'~lkc. said section 1, as re-enacted by the Statutes of Ontario, subpar. ii.

2. Subsection 3 of section 7 of the said Act, as amended by the ~-~~~cted Statutes of Ontario, 1974, chapter 66, section 3, is further amended by striking out "6,000 pounds" in the second line and inserting in lieu thereof "2,750 kilograms".
3.-(1) Subsection 2 of section 36 of the said Act is amended by ;·,;~~:;i~ct striking out "6,000 pounds" in the third line and inserting in lieu thereof "2,750 kilograms".

(a) by striking out "30 miles" in the fourth line and inserting in lieu thereof "SO kilometres" ; and
(b) by striking out "200 feet" in the sixth line and inserting in lieu thereof "sixty metres".
(7) Subsection 5 of t he said section 37 is amended by striking out "300 candle-power" in the third line and inserting in lieu thereof "300 candela".
(8 ) Subsection 6 of the said section J7, as amended bv the Statutes of Ontario, 1976, chapter 37, section S, is h~rther amended,
(a) by striking out "500 feet" in the fifth line and inserting in lieu thereof " 150 metres'';

(11 ) Subsection 11 of the said section 37 is amended.
