Rule of the Week

This week’s rule is “Walk on the paths”. When walking around the school, please stay on the paths. The

reason for this request is to prevent damage to the gardens.

You may have noticed when you returned to school that there

had been a lot of work done on the gardens. Mr Gary Willett, who works here regularly as a relief teacher, came in on most

days of the holidays as a volunteer and replanted and remulched

a number of garden beds. To respect the hard work of Mr Willett, Mr Katz and Mrs Conacher’s Green Thumbs Garden Group, we

need you to only walk on designated paths and protect new

plants. Walk on the paths and keep the school looking good.

Hope you had a great week at our great school!

ENVIRONMENTAL INFORMATION

„A Cleaner, Greener Environment - Give the Land a Hand‟

During the semester holidays there has been extensive planting of na-

tive flowering plants to enhance and compliment an area of school

grounds adjacent to the staffroom and covered walkway. „Westringia

Fructicosa,‟ a Native Rosemary and „Dianella Caerulea,‟ Blue Flax

Lilly being planted in clusters complete the project. Children of all

ages will be inducted as Environment MinisteRS and be actively in-

volved in the care of the garden and surrounds, creating an abiding in-

terest and a worthwhile activity in their leisure time. These experiences

will promote the growth and appreciation of the natural world and de-

velop healthy attitudes and responsibility for the conservation of our

natural heritage. In closing, a sincere thank you to school grounds

staff, Mr Larry Katz, for his invaluable assistance on the completion of

this project.
