these missionary priests in providing children in Africa with medicine that will
save them from dying from such curable diseases as pneumonia, diarrhea, and
measles. Please be generous with your prayers and financial support. Thanks to
all who contributed to Hospice of Dubuque on July 13. Money was sent to them
to assist their service to the terminally ill in our community. REMINDER: Only
coins go to this collection. If you wish to contribute bills or checks, they must be
put in an envelope marked “Loose Coin”. These are available in the rear of
Church.
Kids, “Rise & Shine with God” this summer! Join us every Wednesday at 8:50 am Mass followed by catechesis until 10 am.
Our Faith Leaders are: Tammy Huntington, Amy Freund, and
Julie King. ALL are welcome!

children as well as others in the community.

Dear Parishioners,
Jesus gives us three important parables on the Kingdom of
God: 1) Weeds Among the Wheat; 2) The Mustard Seed; and
3) The Yeast or Leaven. Firstly, we do indeed experience evil
(weeds) among the good (wheat) and it frustrates us. Yet, in the
end they will be separated for all eternity! Secondly, even the
most insignificant person, like the mustard seed, can make a
huge difference in God’s Kingdom! Thirdly, like yeast in the
flour, the Kingdom of God is spreading everywhere and is the
unstoppable force of God’s Love!
We see God’s Kingdom dynamic and full of joy!! For example,
our Vacation Bible School children will sing after Holy
Communion at the 11:00 am Mass at St. Joseph The Worker. At
that Mass, we will also honor Sr. Marilyn Breen PBVM and
Cindy Pfiffner for 15 years and 10 years, respectively. After the
11:00 am Mass in Martin Hall, join me in offering them a sincere
and fond farewell with joy and blessings for the future!!
Blessings upon your family,
Fr. Gabriel
