01. Sony Music Brits After Party Invite 2014The task was to create an invite for the Sony Music Brit Awards After Party. The invite had to be unconventional and also create a buzz on social media via recipients sharing it with fans and followers. Taking Sony’s long musical history into account, me and 2 course partners created an affordable, fun and totally bespoke cardboard radio that played an audio invite in the form of a station jingle. This was a live project that involved us working at Sony’s London HQ for 4 weeks in order to get it completed on time and within budget.

My involvement in this project included:

– Collaborating with idea generation and concepts throughout the project

– Sourcing a supplier for the electrical speaker – Designing the poker chip, sourcing a supplier and

negotiating on a price and time scale.

02. BPS Brand IdentityBeauchamps Property Service is a property maintenance company that prides itself on the quality of the end result and surprising clients with what’s possible. This gave birth to ‘Discover Your Property’s Potential’. The accompanying logo mark is a simplified visual of this slogan, using curves from the B of the logo type to create a flap/ page turn. A smart and refined logo that looks as professional as the work.

This was a solo project completed by myself.

03. Gordon Sans Typeface

In the summer I took it upon myself to learn more about type. After reading the book ‘Just My Type’, I became a little bit infatuated with it. I wanted to have my own letters cut and pressed, but would of course have to design the typeface first. The whole process was a massive lesson that if anything has made me appreciate letter-forms tenfold more, however it was very satisfying and very enjoyable.

This was a self initiated solo project completed by myself.

04. Jewel & KongJewel and Kong is a coffee company that promises to produce some of the best coffee around, sourced from the family run farm in Guatemala. The target audience was young and affluent city workers. With this in mind, me and my course partner created something that would look as desirable as the coffee’s taste. Taking the ‘Jewel’ section of the name we designed a jewel style packaging and identity to position the brand as a luxury product.

My involvement in this project included:

– Collaborating with idea generation, concepts, designs and copy-writing through all stages of the project.

– Art-working the label and applications

05. Radford WallisLeft: Tasked to design the envelope for The National Brain Appeal’s fundraising pack. The idea stems from the various types of events that one could possibly do as a fundraising event (this came from the brochure to be included in the pack). All the words link back to key theme of ‘fundraising’.

Right: Stirling Ackroyd needed flyers for each of their respective London offices. The flyer would display the facts based on the office’s performance in that area, all of whichare integrated into the type.

I worked on these projects solo from idea generation through to final artwork, with guidance from my creative director along the way.

06. Wowcher Re-brandA conceptual re-brand for Wowcher. Working at Wowcher brought attention to certain flaws within its branding, primarily that it was a very dated looking logo. Something that becomes apparent when placed next to Living Social’s logo, a company that Wowcher brought and merged with in early 2016. The main idea was to refresh the overall look rather than start from scratch as this is an established brand. Taking key features and softening them up brings Wowcher into the current times.

This was a self initiated solo project completed by myself.

07. Wowcher Press Ad Re-Design

Updating the old press ad template used for regional news papers across the country. My idea was to step away from a very dull and cheap looking template, and instead create an ad campaign that would not only make the deals more alluring but give Wowcher some much needed stand out design. The campaign would be fresh looking and mainly copy driven, revolving around the idea that Wowcher lets it’s customers live the high life for a low price. This also allowed the copywriters to be more creative with our national ads which hadn’t be done before.

The last slide in this section shows the original template and the final template for the ads after the CEO and COO gave their feedback.

The first 3 designs are my own concepts, with the final version on the 4th slide a collaboration between the whole team after the feedback. Elements of my concepts are featured in the final version, such as using large lifestyle images and the copy based headlines (not the copy-writing itself), the discount circle and how the merchant logos are displayed.

08. The British Museum Re-brandA conceptual re-brand of the British Museum. Inspiration for this concept came from the re-brands of other popular London museums. These new identities express their museum’s character through design and dismiss certain perceptions that they are dull and dusty places. The idea for the logo came from the iconic architecture of the museum’s entrance, and shows off how grand it is from exterior to artefact.

This was solo project completed by myself.
