Overview - Are you interested in how the world is interconnected and want to have an impact in your city, state, and the world?

The Illinois Global Scholar Certificate recognizes you as a student who has a deep interest in how the world is interconnected and a person who is willing to accept challenges and to take action to improve conditions locally and globally. In addition, the certificate communicates to college admissions officers and future employers that you are a global citizen with advanced 21st Century skills and competencies crucial to future success.

Here are the Requirements - Students who achieve the Global Scholar Certificate collaborate with their teacher and their Global Scholar Committee to:1. Complete eight globally-focused classes in a variety of disciplines

2. Participate in at least one sustained globally-focused Service Learning activity or experience with a culture or people significantly different than one’s own

3. Participate in global collaboration and dialogue experiences

4. Design and implement an actionable and research-based Global Scholar Capstone Project based on a compelling question of global concern
