As the Rat Year is coming to an end, we look forward to usher in the arrival of the Ox. Based on the Hsia Calendar the Metal Ox will arrive on 3rd February 2021 Li-Chun (立春) at 2308Hrs. Traditionally, the Chinese will celebrate their New Year on the 1st day of the Lunar New Year, which falls on the 12th February 2021. Many people around the world are looking towards 2021 with renewed optimism, following the events of 2020.

For the Ox Year 2021, Yin Metal (辛)H8 is the Heavenly Stem and Ox (丑)E2 which is the Earthly branch, Yin Earth. There is a harmonious pairing of the Heavenly Stem and Earthly Branch. As a result of the Earthly Branch supporting the Heavenly Stem, we can presume that 2021 will be a relatively more peaceful year compared to 2020. However, Metal can also drain the Earth. Hence, we are able to predict the performance of certain related industries. For example, workplace safety for the mining sectors will come under the spotlight. Excessive digging and tunneling by the mining companies may be a cause of concern for local authorities and the surrounding communities.

This coming year, the Ox (丑)E2 will have direct clash with the Ram (未)E8. This unfavorable pairing could bring possible negative circumstances. So if you are born in the year of the Ram, or on a Ram day, be mindful of the clash. Be wary while driving on the roads and keep a safe distance from vehicles ahead of you. To help nullify the negative effects of the clash, those born in the year of Ram may carry a Rat pendant or place it in their work station or home. Refrain from travelling in the direction of the Tai Sui

(太岁), which is in the Northeast for the Year 2021.

The Ox (丑) E2 is also a Nobleman Star for those who are born on the Day of Yang Wood (甲) H1, Yang Earth (戊) H5 and Yang Metal (庚) H7. Nobleman plays an important role in our daily life. If 2021 is your Nobleman year, you can encounter a smooth sailing year ahead. It is believed the Nobleman is a helpful person who support and give us motivation and inspiration to solve problems.

However, the Ox (丑) E2 also has Three Persecuting Clash (三刑) with the Ram (未) E8 and Dog (戌) E11 zodiacs. Those afflicted by the Three Persecuting Clash would face difficult challenges and possible misfortune. The Ram and Dog months fall on July & October, so do take care.

Yin Metal (辛) H8 sitting on Winter Earth (丑) E2 is relatively cold. Yin Metal also represents the lungs and respiratory system. As we are now experiencing the COVID-19 pandemic, it will exacerbate the condition. Do remember to seek medical advise should you experience health issue.

At the macro level ; we look at the Four Pillars of the Year.

For Year of the Ox (丑) E2, the ruling element is Water (壬) H9. The Water element is relatively strong due to the 2 Metal support (辛)H8 & (庚) H7 that are present at the Year & Month Stem respectively. In addition, there are 2 more Water elements (壬) H9 & (子) E1 at the Hour Pillar. Earth (丑) E2 is sitting below Metal (辛) H8 and next to the Wood (寅) E3 which makes the Earth weak. This means that Water is extremely strong this Year. The surplus amount of Water this year will affect our urinary system and kidney. We can relate that for this Ox Year, people with weak Fire element are at risk because Water element is very Strong. Health wise, Fire can be associated with the heart & blood circulation of the person. For those who have heart or blood related issues should take care and seek relevant medical advice. Do take note especially in the 3rd Quarter of the Year. Expect heavier rainfall as a result of the Strong Water element. This would cause soil erosion and increase occurrence of landslide. As Fire (午) E7 is sitting below Water (壬) H9 and next to Water (子) E1 , we can conclude that the Fire element is extremely Weak. The only support available is only Wood (寅) E3. As the Wood element is also Weak, it does not offer sufficient support to the Fire (午) E7 . As there is excessive Water this year, Water industries such as Shipping & Transport will not do well this Year.

The yearly two potent stars, 2 & 5 are at the North & Southeast respectively. Star 5 brings misfortune and illness while star 2 brings sickness.
