“Whatever youdo, work heartily,as for the Lordand not for men, knowing thatfrom the Lordyou will receivethe inheritanceas your reward. You are servingthe Lord Christ.”Colossians 3:23-24

Sick Students? Should a cold keep your child out ofschool? Your child has watery eyes anda runny nose. He's sneezing and feelingpoorly. We ask that you keep him homeone or two days, even longer ifsymptoms persist. The cold virus canspread to other children for up to fivedays after a cold's onset. Children can get sick from touchinganything your child has sneezed orcoughed on. We ask that you remindyour child to sneeze into their arm andto cover their mouth when the cough.Thank you for all those parents whoconsistently keep the above thoughts inmind.

As we move into the fall and winter season, it is with bothappreciation and gratefulness that we think about thosewho may be less fortunate than us. Mary Immaculate has decided to partner with DorisPowers and Canadian Food For Children by filling shoeboxes to bless struggling children in developing countrieswith toys, non-liquid hygiene items, school supplies, andother items. We will collect the boxes at our school andDoris will ensure that they are distributed to children livingin desperate situations. We have shoe boxes at school that are waiting for yourdonation and hope that each class can contribute to thisspecial charity. You may also wish to donate a shoebox as afamily. The only thing we ask that you refrain from isputting candy in individual boxes -- if candy is donated itshould be placed in ONE box, so adults can help distributeit to children on the receiving end.  We also ask that nofood is placed within the box and that nothing related toviolence or fighting (no camouflage). Please bring your donations to school between now andNovember 30th, 2019. We sincerely thank you for your generosity and yoursupport with this initiative.

The virtue of the Month: During the month of November, wewill be focussing on the virtue ofRESPONSIBILITY at MaryImmaculate. The scripture passagethat guides us this month is, “Youshall love the Lord your God with allyour heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with allyour strength.' The second is this,'You shall love your neighbour asyourself.' There is no othercommandment greater than these.”Mark 12:30-31.

Students will be bringing their Progress Report Cards home on Monday, November 18th with Parent-Teacher Conferences scheduled for Thursday evening, November 21st from 4-7p.m. and Fridaymorning, November 22nd from 9-11:30 a.m. It is Ministry mandated that there be parent-teacher interviews for this Progress Report. Pleaseensure that you book a time to speak with your child's teacher. Information will be sent home shortlyregarding sign up. Also, please remember to sit down with your child and talk with them aboutsetting goals for the remainder of Term One. As well, please besure to sign page two and make comments, if you wish, regarding your child's progress to date.Thank you for your ongoing support in the education of your child(ren).

DEAR GOD, GIVE ME A SENSE OF RESPONSIBILITY TO MYSELF,  SO THAT I MAY NEVER WASTE THEGIFTS WHICH YOU HAVE GIVEN TO ME; A SENSE OF RESPONSIBILITY TO MY PARENTS, SO THAT I MAY DO SOMETHING TO TRY TO REPAY THEM FOR ALL THE LOVE  AND THECARE THEY HAVE GIVEN TO ME; A SENSE OF RESPONSIBILITY TO MY TEACHERS, SO THAT ALL THEIR PATIENT TEACHINGOF ME MAY NOT GO UNNOTICED; A SENSE OF RESPONSIBILITY TO MY FRIENDS, SO THAT I MAY NEVER DISAPPOINT THEM;   A SENSE OF RESPONSIBILITY TO THOSE WHO HAVE GONE BEFORE ME, SO THAT I MAYNEVER FORGET WHAT MY FREEDOM COST; A SENSE OF RESPONSIBILITY TO THE WORLD, SO THAT I MAY PUT INTO LIFE MORE THAN ITAKE OUT; A SENSE OF RESPONSIBILITY TO YOU, SO THAT I MAY ALWAYS REMEMBER THAT YOULOVED ME AND GAVE YOURSELF FOR ME. HELP ME REMEMBER WHAT I HAVE RECEIVED, AND TO USE WHAT I HAVE AND SO TO MAKE WHAT I OUGHT TO OUT OF THIS LIFE OFMINE, WHICH COST SO MUCH. THIS I ASK FOR YOUR LOVE’S SAKE, AMEN. AMEN
